A super idea to attach a nice hotel to the water park. You can tell the chefs are a cut above. But given the water park over the bridge, more children's options are necessary in the restaurant. However, the hotel does have a hidden teen room (games console) and another kiddy room (although my 8 year-old said it was for babies). It is also a nice and easy walk to the centre/harbour of Wismar through the park

Very clean, modern hotel and very well situated. Our only concern was the bar service and the professionalism of some of the staff. Not good to see staff smoking outside the hotel. Very good value for money and an ideal base to visit Wismar.

A “stone‘s throw away” from the attractive historical market place – and surrounded in first class comfort: In the rooms of the Vienna House Stadt Hamburg Wismar you will find everything you need to make your stay in the north of Germany even more pleasurable. Incredibly comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, as well as the most upto-date technical equipment – including W-LAN in the entire hotel.
Being most cordially welcome— an extremely well handled check- in: hospitality at its best. The personnel at the reception always willing to help ant to make your stay easy. The check- out efficient: and provoking the desire to return to this hotel and to enjoy its comfort. The restaurant: the kitchen as well as the service excellent. I had a phantastic steak( great quality and well prepared). The wine selection quite good. Hopefully: after the renovation and the tajeover by Wirtshaus Joseph the quality of the kitchen as well as of the service will be maintained. My standard room spacious enough and comfortable. To be commended: available a secretary for work and good lighting. And enough hangers for clothes. To be improved in the ongoing renovation process: the sauna. A spectacular view over the town from the sauna-terrace at the top floor. As the Shaba seems to be quite popukar( not only among guests): tgecsauba needs to be enlarged. To the restaurant: Mrs. Doreen to be thanked for her recommendations and excellent service.Abd of course: not to forget the dedicated personnel at the front-desk. An good corps d’esprit the new owner of the hotel should continue to take care of and to further qualify.

We had a good experience at this venue - nice quiet room, decent breakfast, helpful staff. The location is excellent for touring this lovely city, and there is parking available in an adjacent lot for a small fee. The reason this isn't a five-star review is that...my socks were not knocked off, which is my criteria. Our room on the ground floor looked out at a wall, and there is no on-site bar or restaurant. That being said, breakfast is included and the price point is reasonable.

This is a really nice hotel but I would not stay there again or recommend it due to the really poor internet connectivity; the last time I had internet as bad as this I was over in Vietnam! Not quite sure how it could be so bad in a modern country like Germany? The staff were freindly and the room, although dated in its style was really nice, warm and comfortable. The hotel is quaint as it appears to be configured from a number of different old properties and the parking is fine if you book a garage space. For me a big issue was the really poor internet connection; we only had a couple of hours connectivity over the 2 nights that we stayed but even that was slow and flaky. Really useless, spoke with other guests over breakfast and they had the same issue that you could reach the hotel router but the internet connection was down. The other issue was the breakfast as on the second morning there were no white rolls and as I have dietary requirements I was left with having to go elsewhere later. It was however really good quality and my wife enjoyed it on both mornings.

Old hotel in the old town of Wismar. Location is very good, just about center of the old town. Bakeries and restaurants around. 8-10 min walk to the port. Room is not too small, comfortable bed. Didn't try their breakfast as it was too expensive (16-17 Euro per person). Must reserve parking in advance (8 EUR per night). Otherwise parking near the port (across from Park Inn) is 4 EUR per day. Or just in front of hotel free to park from 5pm-9am.

The bed was really good. There is a nespresso coffee machine in every room for free. You’ll have the best coffee ?. They are in to organic thinking as Well as vegan as I noticed at breakfast. Breakfast is not included but for a fair Price you’ll get a Very nice buffet. The hotel is located about 200 meters from Wismar old town. It is a perfect setting. You get your own key to the frontdoor as it is a small hotel. This actually makes me feel safer.

Hjärtligt Välkommen IN HOTEL Schwedenhaus Wismar The Hotel Garni is located in the southern outskirts of Wismar next to a park with children's playground and a pond. The Hotel is close to the water park Wonnemar, the zoo in the Hanseatic city, the University of Wismar and since 2003 to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic old town in the vicinity. The room There are our standard single and twin rooms and double rooms with a size of 17 square meters or comfort single and twin rooms and double rooms with a size of 27 to 34sqm available. As well as the popular with families family rooms with a separate children's bedroom and kitchen to choose. The free parking for our guests is located directly behind the hotel and provides even groups who plan to travel with their own coaches ample parking. Central location The central location of the city of Wismar day trips are in the maritime Hanseatic cities of Lübeck, Rostock and Stralsund always a popular destination. Of course, the state capital of Schwerin and the island of Poel and Darß is equally a must.
There is really only one reason to choose Schwedenhaus when in Wismar, none other places are available. This place is poorly located far outside the city center, the service level is low and the rooms are comparable to a camping hut. Our room had a refrigerator that made so much noise that we decided to unplug it, no wifi in the rooms, and blurry pictures on the TV. The shower had warm water, but it took long to get it adjusted to not go from hot to cold. Noise from other tenants was quite annoying as it started early in the morning and the walls seemed to be made out of card board. This place is however probably the cheapes alternative in Wismar.

What a lovely place! Beautifully refurbished old country house, large and airy, in perfect, minimalist-traditional style, sitting in a gorgeous, idyllic landscape. Dinner in the delightful dinning room is outstanding - easily the best in Wismar - with an excellent selection of wines and super-charming and knowledgeable sommelier/maitre d'. The only down side is that they don't serve it for two days a week (Mon/Tues). They really ought to try to do so, as I can't see why anyone would want to eat anywhere else (including the drive there) during their stay! Breakfast could be a bit better, perhaps with more variety and special things every day (eg. some pies, quiches, etc) and, crucially, not running out of fresh fruit & croissants a good half-hour before the end (!) Anyway, small issues, this is a truly special place and highly recommended as a base to explore the area or just to enjoy the countryside for a few days. P.S. Children & babies of all ages are welcome, and personally I think this is a mistake. The place is a small, refined retreat that should allow for uninterrupted peace and relaxation in lovely nature (that's the main thing it has to offer), and the presence of even one crying baby or noisy child can destroy that for every single room and guest. Please do consider making your wonderful property adults-only and advertising it as a relaxation haven - I am positive you will be rewarded!

Let's start with the good. Location is excellent, breakfast is superb (well, that's usually the case in Germany), the public areas are pleasant (except for reception), and staff try their best - but may be overwhelmed, as the restaurant seems very popular with German tourists. I wouldn't know, except for breakfast I didn't eat there. Beds are very comfortable. And I appreciated being able to leave luggage after check-out, although it's not really in a safe area or monitored in any way, so my laptop and other "valuables" had to be dragged around the entire day. Negatives: The rooms. Maybe I have high expectations for character that seldom seem to be fulfilled in German hotels that are within old buildings, but... well, the rooms are unpleasant. Carpeting for one - I find this so unhygienic, but this seems to be the norm in Germany, unfortunately. The bathrooms, while functional, are bare and solely utilitarian. The wifi was appallingly poor - it's impossible to work inside the rooms (on the 3rd floor in the old building), only in the corridor outside. For crying out loud, a repeater for the router is less than 70 Euro, I should think a worthwhile investment for the hotel to make. It's probably the case that most Germans have a data plan associated with their mobile phones, but not all guests are Germans! My biggest complaint, though, was that my first assigned room (44) stank of sewage; my colleague, placed next door, is a tall woman who had to duck her head to avoid collision with the ceiling. Luckily (since the town was filled with grey-haired German tourists) there were lower rooms that we were able to move to, but even then mine smelled of mildew (perhaps the carpet issue?) and I had to have the window open to disperse this. As for entertainment - well, the tv is there, but quite useless for non-German speakers as there are zero international channels, and without room wifi, streaming content's not possible. Another wifi inconvenience is the assignment of login/password tickets, which needed to be reissued periodically as they expire - but also do not allow for automatic reconnection. In the end, I'd say that there's no benefit to staying here. It's simply a humdrum, run-of-the-mill box hotel with inferior amenities. Another colleague stayed at the Radisson nearby, and he liked it. Maybe the best thing about the New Orleans is that it's right across from the Bauhaus brewery and distillery - I recommend this for its beer, and its amicable and helpful staff. My WIsmar colleagues, however, said that the food quality and choice has declined in recent years.
