We went there tonight and the only open table was in the corner. After 15 minutes of waiting I went to the bar to ask if we could get some help and they said they didn't know we were there. They took our order right away, and brought us our drinks. From the time we went into the bar and got our food 57 minutes had passed. My drink sat empty for well over half an hour, since no one came by we didn't get refills. When we did get our food, she had to move my empty drink to set the food down, and do you think she brought me another drink? Nope. We were left alone for another 20 minutes and had to go to the bar and find someone to get us our bill. We very easily could have walked out and no one would have even noticed. The food was fair at best for the wait we had. We will not be going back.We are truly sorry you did not enjoy your visit to Pohlk's Pub. We believe in great customer service and appreciate every person that walks in our door. After reading your experience we understand that you did not receive the level of service we strive to provide to every customer. Pohlk's Pub greatly appreciates your feedback. Went last week with friends, had been before had fabulous baked fish so I ordered it again. Came out hard and brown and rubbery, almost like shoe leather, my friends didn't look too bad but I was shocked that they would actually serve it, it was so bad.Asked for a differnt fish, came back 1 sm pc undercooked, not even warm. By then everyone else was done, I had ate my potato and slaw. So the waitress brings me out 1 deep fried pc and never charged me, but by than I was so disappointed in the whole meal. It will be a long time before I go back. Too bad because our other meal there before was great.

Our daughter said this place was pretty good under the previous ownership so we thought we'd give it a try. We weren't really hungry so just ordered burgers. They were just ok, fried rather than grilled. They didn't have much taste but were pretty big. The french fries were spiral cuts of potato, breaded and deep fried. They were interesting. Our waitress stopped and visited with a table (not her customers) for about 20 minutes while we waited for our bill. That was not impressive. We'll go back but next time will try dinner or pizza instead. Maybe they'll do a better job on that.HI,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It's unfortunate that the service didn't meet your expectations however using this feedback myself and my team can try to improve. If possible could you give me the date and time you came to my restaurant? Personal email is [email protected], I'd like to hear any other suggestions or comments. Again thank you for the review and hope to see you again Chad
Fun times at the Friendly Tavern!Weather it is a Friday night fish fry,Tuesday night Bingo, Packer/Badger games, Horseshoes/Darts/Pool, Holiday parties & now PaintNite! The shrimp and broiled fish during Friday nights; my favorite. Arrive early Tuesday nights to get a seat for Bingo, which starts at 7pm and it fills up fast! I attended the Friendly Taverns first PaintNite with my daughter and friends, we had a great time, the staff was friendly and we received cocktail service while learning how to paint. I would suggest you check out their Facebook page, they usually advertise special events there.

We visit Portage about once a month and our first stop is Big Dogs. They have the best burgers in town and then some. We enjoy the Saloon atmosphere and friendly folks here. Stay for a while or maybe a little longer, prices are reasonable and drinks are good. Highly recommend

Exactly what we were looking for, a bar and grill with a clean and open atmosphere that is not a chain. Decent craft beer list, great food, and there was even a vegetarian option (the pesto panini). Staff was friendly, great service. Glad we stumbled upon this place and we left very satisfied!

This place is wonderful. Donât let the outside fool you...the inside is a cozy northwoods restaurant. The bar area is huge...with excellent drinks reasonably priced and great service. The food is fantastic...we were there for Friday night fish fry. Staff is attentive and friendly...portions generous

Based on reviews, we decided to meet for lunch in Portage as a half way point between cities. We are so glad we did! Besides having seating at the bar, they have a room filled with comfortable furniture and large screen TVs that provide the perfect environment for conversation and for watching a Badgers basketball game. The food choices were far more than we imagined. I enjoyed a philly cheesesteak with a side of deep fried pickles. Order the deep fried pickles! They are planks, not slices, fried in a crisp, light, tasty batter and served with dipping sauce. My friend had the chicken ranch wrap with fries, which she loved. Also, kudos to the incredibly helpful and friendly waitress! Do not be deterred by the outside as a "hole in the wall" mentioned by one reviewer - step inside and give the place a try.

We have found another favorite place for Friday night fish. We are 6 month seasonals at Lake Delton & always looking for a different Supper Club. We were pleasantly surprised. Very nice fresh salad bar. Only thing negative was that the Corn Fritters weren't very hot. Beer Battered Cod, Perch, Beer Battered Cod & Chicken & Baked Cod were our choices. For sides three had Hash Browns, one French Fries, & I had the Baby Reds which were cooked perfectly. Everyone was pleased with their entrees. First impression excellent with Brian the bartender who mixes a darn good cocktail & continued with efficient, friendly service from Lisa. A busy place is always a good sign. We had about one half hour wait is all. We will definately be back. It is well worth the drive away from the busyness Dells area.
