Great American food
Went on Saturday during Butternut's Pioneer Days. The prices are ridiculously high. $8.95 for 2 pieces of fish! We had the meatball sub and Italian sausage sub. The bread was good and the sandwiches had ample amounts of cheese. The meatballs had NO flavor. Nothing! Little meat rubber balls. The Italian sausage sub was a patty and not much better than the meatball. Fries were ok but overall-not worth going to have lunch. New owners and supposed to have turned it into a sports bar. The only change we noticed was a pool table in the dining room.
We stop here on Snowmobile trip every year and have a great time every time. The bartender/owner is always a blast and regularly has us try out whatever new shot he's concocted for free. if you're doing a guys trip, ask him about the right times to head up there. There is a pool table if you're not too drunk to play pool and you'll sometimes be rewarded with food if you get there at the right times. While many of the bars have a low patron count during the super cold winter months, other than snowmobilers making their way through, this bar seems to keep a few non-snowmobilers despite the cold.Head on over and give it a shot, then come back to Chicago and be amazed to find that you know other people who've been there too and love it. I did.

My stomach hurts... but it's self-inflicted. We just caught brunch at the shanty which was homemade and filling. The two pieces of pie afterwards were not necessary but they were soooo necessary. The young staffers seemed a bit inexperienced but tried hard and were very friendly.
Because Park Falls did not have an alternative route for ATV's across the river, we had to return the way we came. We had noticed a sign for the Outhouse just off the trail and decided to give it a try.Outside is a large outdoor deck and an outhouse that you need to check out! Inside the bar is well decorated and very updated. We were greeted by the bartender and the locals, making the visit very inviting. There is free pool and many pictures of the building's history. The bartender even offered my wife a can cooler for her beverage! The food is absolutely amazing! We had burgers, fries, onion rings, and mini tacos. The burgers are hand made and make certain you have the home cut fries. The deep fryer oil is fresh and everything is well prepared and served. The prices are VERY reasonable. This is a great party bar as well as a great place for food. It is on county road E west of Park Falls so not difficult to find. Make a point of stopping out there - for Harley fans and hungry visitors!

We are from the Chicago area and we were vacationing in Park Falls. We were actually heading to a different restaurant. We couldn't find it and started heading back to our cabin, when we passed Northwoods Supper Club. It was so good. We are a family of 5 and we all ate dinner with unlimited salad bar included for under 80 dollars! Our waiter Nikoli was great. It was so good we went there a second time for their Friday fish fry. If you are in the Phillips, Fifield,or Park Falls area this is a must!

We've only made it out here twice while on snowmobile trips, it's a little ways from butternut, but it's been worth it each time. great pizza here and they serve spotted cow. the view from the lodge is pretty nice in winter, full view of the lake behind it. they also have a web came that updates every 5 minutes or so, you can use this to gauge how much snow is out there for snowmobiling. from the looks of it, you can rent units, but i'm not sure what quality they are. check it out for yourself. the place has access to the snowmobile trails so you can get wherever you need to go from here.

My husband loves tap beer and enjoyed Capitol Amber at Musky Jacks. We both enjoyed conversing with bartenders -- exchanging stores, jokes and information about area. Nothing fancy for a bar--but very clean even the bathrooms.I enjoyed the Thursday special - smoked pulled pork sandwiches - just smoked enough to satisfy without being overwhelming and not salty at all. My husband enjoyed the prime rib sandwich, served rare as ordered on a toasted bun along with sauteed mushroom and onions (no additional charge at this time). The fries were nice and crispy just as my husband likes. The bartenders were also attending to the needs of a small retirement party--and everyone seemed happy and well taken care of.We were watching pre-season Packers and received a complimentary jello shot when they scored--Go Pack.Congrats to new owners of Musky Jacks and continued success....we will return when in area.
