I'd like to review this excellent pizza restaurant in Sparta, WI. Sparta is a tourist destination for biking, and this is one of the best restaurants in town. My entire group LOVED it when we ate there over the weekend. One person said it was the best piz
Having grown up in the Chicago suburbs, I was accustomed to two different styles-deep dish/pan pizza such as Pizzeria Uno's and a thinner, crispy crust style. We ordered a "deep pan" variety. What was served was a relatively thin, soft crust but with a thick, doughy edge. I was expecting more of a deep dish thick pie, but was pleasantly surprised by Slice of Chicago's style. The pizza itself was quite good and the waitress provided a cup of sauce to dip the crust edge. We drove a half hour to try it and were impressed enough to want to return to see how they do their thin crust. What was also a positive was the price-very competitive for the amount of food you receive.

Ate here on a Friday evening. It wasn't overly busy. Nice atmosphere. Service was good. Food even better. The supreme slice of pizza wasn't as hot as I would have liked, but it was delicious. The lasagna was really light and enjoyable and memorable. We'd eat here again!
What to do and see in Sparta, United States: The Best Places and Tips
Sparta was quiet on the 4th of July with all the local places closed. Several chain fast foods were available, Subway, Taco Bell, McD's. Wanting to sit down and grab a beer with dinner after a long day's ride, I chose Pizza Hut. It's been a long time since I last set foot in a PH. I now know why. Normally I'm a pizza junkie who scarfs the pie, but not this night. This is just bad food. I'm sorry to be a hater, this seems barely removed from being bulk commodity ingredients. There is no real structure to the crust, yet it exists somehow. The menu descriptions are more substantive than the toppings themselves. I would take an Emil's frozen za over this any day.On a holiday Saturday night I was impressed with the server though. She (Kelly) had a very difficult couple just two booths away and she handled it wonderfully. I think they were trying to get the 2 pizzas with 2 toppings each special, but only wanted one pizza with all the toppings of the two at the promo price...something to that effect. In the end they were upset because "that's not what we understood" and I saw him hand her loose change for a tip. I never saw her lose any composure and she did say a gracious "thank you". The service was perfectly fine, and she did not deserve their demeaning behavior...and I let the manager know after I heard the couple speaking to him on their way out.
