Found Matthew's on Trip Advisor, what a find . Ordered one of the specials Riviera Haddock, and Scallops Mornay . You get your choice of soup or veggies , salad, and potatoes. First up the Haddock generous size portion with 4 large shrimp covered swiss cheese and seasoned well . Fish was firm and cooked perfectly and very moist , glad the wife couldn't finish because I did ! The Scallops 6 large sea Scallops in a lively creamy sauce with mushrooms , green onion , and swiss cheese. My highest compliment while eating this dish is , I did not wslmto talk and just savor every bite cutting each one into 4 pieces to stretch the scallop induced food thrill ad long as possible, please do yourself a flavor eat there.
Where to eat American food in Clintonville: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We stopped in to this restaurant/bar last week on our way through Clintonville. We should have walked back out immediately, but there were 2 other couples dining, so we decided to stay. Our table was in a small dining room that was acting as a storage for kitchen supplies...gallons of maple syrup and other supplies. I ordered the perch and Lee ordered a hamburger. We both ordered the home made fries which were limp and soggy, so we asked for some that were more well done. Usually when you get a fish fry on Friday in Wisconsin, the perch are nice and crispy and look like fish fillets. These were unrecognizable perch in the shape of triangles and so heavily breaded that I couldn't taste the fish. Lee's burger was not very good either. The second batch of fries was better, but we left without eating them. Use caution in the bathrooms too because they were both a messI am very sorry that your experience at Big Sal & Cheesy's was not a good one. I do stand by my product and would have loved to have you bring your complaint to my attention as I am there 7 days a week from kitchen open to kitchen close. I always will do what it takes to make things right whether it be making your order to your specific taste, or refunding your money all together. However, if it is not brought to my attention, I cannot make things right for you.so, once again I apologize for your experience which is definitely not the norm here at Big Sal & Cheesy's.
The owners of the house we just bought said this was a very good place for prime rib. Well we stopped here to give it a try & it was just average. Not very tasty, more like it was baked. Needless to say we were very disappointed.
