Very hospitable bartenders and owner. Joe the owner is a great, friendly, funny guy. He does a great job mingling with the older locals and the younger college crowd. Both parties mix and get a long great. Have been there several times when there is live music and its always a blast. Atmosphere is very relaxed and fun. When you don't want the uppity feel of Log Jam but don't want the dive "feet stick to the floor" feel of Rehab....hit up the Den.

A friend and I were in the area for the Wisconsin deer hunting season. We wanted to go out for a good burger and chose the Pioneer. We ordered some appetizers and a couple of burgers. The first problem was when the bartender brought me onion rings when I had ordered cheese curds. When I told her about the error, she proceeded to tell me I was wrong and I had ordered onion rings, which was not correct. I decided to go ahead with the onion rings which were greasy and heavy on the batter. Needless to say, I didn't eat them. When I got the burger, it was equally as bad. It didn't even taste like beef and seemed like some sort of frozen soy bean patty. Previous reviewers enjoyed the burgers, but I didn't have the same experience. The food and service were both below my expectations. My friend agreed and this is one restaurant I won't be going back to.

A long-time bar in the downtown of a small college town, affectionately known as The Buck. Updated older building with open air store front for nice weather. Excellent tap beer selection. Spaces for large groups. While we did not eat, the food coming out of the kitchen looked great. Fun, low key place to hang out, visit, watch a game. People of all ages, not just a college bar

Good service, we got there at opening on a Sunday. The service was great, the food was good, although we each had the sirloin on the 2 for $22 and it was a bit tough and mine was not HOT. The ambiance is typical for Applebees, the location is good. I would come back, if other alternatives were not more inviting. we were there for a BB tournament and so are not in Menomoney very often.

Came here with friends and were seated on the outside patio. Was hoping to enjoy one of the fantastic rotating tap beer selections they used to carry. Instead, I was given a rather plain, "average" beer menu. I asked for a Summit Pale Ale, I was told they didn't carry it anymore. I ended up with Victoria and ordered their homemade cheese pizza with sausage. It was very good! I like going to the ale house but am disappointed they don't carry the large selection of craft beers they previously once had (Pearl Street, Lagunitas, Lucette, etc.,) Please consider jazzing up your beer selections again!

12/22/1018 7:30 pm Was looking forward to the ribs. When they arrived at the table, they Looked great.... looks were deceiving.I expect fall off the bone ribs, these were anything but that.Waaay Fatty, and could have been slow cooked at least 3-4 more hours. Long story short, the 3 orders of ribs at our table,Should have never made it to a plate. The pasta was great, steaks pretty good, chicken dishes were VERY bland, only the sauce had flavor.. Service was over all good.I wait a while to go back...Oh btw, cheese curds portion should be doubled for what theyâre charging for them...

Friendly, helpful waitstaff offering an interesting and tasteful menu. Especially enjoyed the croquet appetizer and masher plate. A GREAT place to sample scotch - just order a scotch flight and enjoy.

When you arrive at Lucette, you may be taken aback as they have done a great job at building a destination Brewery and restaurant. A beautiful building and grounds, designer interior, Edison style lights, designer tile on wood-fire pizza oven and around the kitchen. As we spent time here though, the luster lost it's sheen quickly. I ordered the "hoppy" flight of four ($12) and missed my chance to include the "Big Hoppa" so I asked for a sample of it, ($4). Outside of the Big Hoppa, I found their beer to be a major let down. Kind of over priced, not well composed, a miss for my palate. Their Pizza creations though were quite good, we ordered up the "Muppy" ($13) and it is what i would call "Designer" Pizza but very fitting for the surroundings and well done. We sat at the bar, and unfortunately grabbed a seat in front of the register/computer. We were greeted by one server picking her nose while she closed out a tab, a full digit up in there, but mostly just a congregation of servers complaining about various things and making plans for their days off. Not usually a big deal, besides the nose picker, but it took over our conversations which isn't what you'd hope for at a place like this. I'd go here for the atmosphere and the pizza, but wish you could bring your own beer. It really has a vibe of a nice winery.

Seriously, Waterfront has the best fish fry weâve ever had. Portions are generous, fish is delectable, good tartar sauce and coleslaw AND the best is that asparagus is one of the sides! Delicious! Wait staff is friendly and the beer and drinks are great. Hands down, the best place to go for fish fry! (And their other food is good, too!)

We stopped here on our way camping, helpful hint...if hauling a camper or trailer, go about 2 blocks past restaurant and take a right, there was plenty of parking space on the road there, short walk to restaurant. We had really good food, my salad was so fresh and husband stated it was the best french dip he had! Clean restaurant, clean bathrooms. Service was good.
