A perfect, casual neighborhood restaurant on Madison's west side. Worth a drive if you want well prepared food. We love the fried smelt app. Flavorful with a light batter. On this occasion, we enjoyed the night special of beef/pork meatballs with polenta, local vegetables. The meatballs were moist and delicious. There is a reasonable list of draft beers. Bar with a few screens make this a place for just about anyone. Give it a try.

I've been to Brasserie V a couple of times, after a friend's recommendation as the place to get the best burger. I admit that I was not amazed by their burger; Although I did like the meat, I did not particularly like having a toastie bread instead of a bun. I've tried their salads, which I found to be a good attempt but would not describe them as good. However, I have really enjoyed their steak thus I am giving 3 bubbles instead of 2. Their beer menu is extensive but they have small measures.

Our group of six decided to give Funk's Pub a try this past Monday evening. It's in a newer commercial area with plenty of parking. Most of the nearby businesses seemed to be closed when we arrived around 7:30 pm. It was about 25% full while we were there. There is a stage setup for live music although they were not playing. Our waitress was friendly, gave us menus and took our drink orders. You had to go up to the bar to see the beer listing, but our waitress was able to tell us what was available. The offerings seemed pretty diverse. The menu is pretty standard pub fare w/a few surprises like the Falafel Salad and Roasted Red Pepper soup. Our group ordered Fried Pickle Chips, Spinach and Artichoke Dip; the Mushroom and Swiss Burger, Tilapia Tacos; the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and multiple Cubanos. Although it didn't seem particularly busy, there was a significant wait between receiving our beverages, then one appetizer, then another, and finally our meals. Our waitress appeared to be the only one working and we wondered if perhaps they only had a single chef as well. The food was very good. The pickles came with two dips, one of which had just a bit of spice. The spinach dip was creamy and delicious and was served with plenty of carrots, celery and chips although the chips were in small pieces. The tacos, the burger and the wrap all had good reviews but everyone with a Cubano said they were excellent. Pork, ham bacon, roasted red pepper, pickles, provolone and Cajun mustard -- not your typical Cubano. Most of us had pub chips with our meals. They were handmade, hearty and crispy. For pub food, I thought this was really good. The ambiance was fine, but if a band was playing I think it would have been too loud. I do wish they had been a little faster in bringing out our orders, but again I wondered if they were just overstaffed. I'd be happy to go back if I was in the area.

We had great fun! Place packed! Long wait for a table (like 1 1/2 hours!) Food good and very reasonably priced. Old fashioned drinks outstanding as we waited at the bar for our table. Great place for all ages but must like to stand around ( or if u are lucky) sit at the bar waiting for food. Once seated food service is pretty quick. Interesting old Madison photos on the walls. Beer bottle chandeliers looked neat. I would definitely good again but would get there as soon as possible to 5 pm on Friday if you want a quick table.

Dotty Dumpling's Dowry is a Madison institution favored by the locals for over 40 years. Located in the heart of downtown, Dotty's offers award winning hamburgers, Friday fish fry, homemade soups and chili, fresh salads and so much more! Cozy up in a boot
I love everything about Dotty Dompling's. The atmosphere is great and everything is really clean. You can just tell it's a well-run operation. The servers are excellent. The food is delicious. The cheese curds are so yummy (especially with the sweet mustard sauce) and the burgers are so good. Perfectly executed. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It's become a must-stop restaurant for us whenever we visit Madison.

Me & Julio is has a casual, fun, relaxed atmosphere and a made from scratch menu. Bar features 21 tap beers, crafted cocktails and several flavors of margaritas. Where strangers become friends, and friends become family.
Hubby & I were out for our belated 15-Year Anniversary. (We had originally tried a local supper club & will never return & we didn't even EAT there, with their terrible, unorganized, unprofessional service.) However, it made coming to Me & Julio's so much better, for us. It was a more quiet & relaxed environment, the staff - from hostess to server was friendly & helpful. The food was so good; I had the Saturday Night Special Prime Rib & hubby tried their Steak Fajitas. Their drinks were Yummy also, a Strawberry Colada. They even served a bowl of popcorn before you order. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, yummy food & drinks, an outdoor patio for when it's nice outside & a firepit for the colder evenings. Hubby said the bill was a bit high for 2, but still a Wonderful Evening Out. They REALLY turned our terrible night around for us. Thank You Me & Julio Fitchburg!

We get together once a month and whoever is available shows up which was about twenty for our post holiday gathering. The staff especially our waiter Nick did a great job accommodating us without prior warning. Food was very good as were bloody marys and beer selection was grand. We all had a good time to wind up 2018.

Beer list is impressive, food was good. Service not so much. Couldnât tell if this was a âlocalâ place where the staff catered to their regulars, because they seemed to know a lot of people by name. But they were very inattentive, screwed up my order and didnât offer to fix it. But overall I had a good dinner on a Friday night while in town for business, and would probably go back.

Locally owned and operated featuring an American Contemporary menu.
I have been here numerous time, including for lunch, dinner, and a private party. The food has always been great and the service friendly, efficient, and attentive. The butternut squash soup is very good, garnished with some chopped apple. I especially like the Heirloom Caprese Salad and the Beet and Berry Salad. Their flatbreads are good - available in full or half sizes. Their burger is good as well. Their menu is eclectic and creative. This is one of my favorite Madison restaurants. They have an outdoor patio. It's covered and has a fire pit for cooler weather.

Been here before and liked it, but only fair tonight. Mother's Day, kinda busy, we were told 20 minutes for a table, took 30. Soup came luke warm at best, food was good overall, server was friendly and attentive, but everything just took too long.
