I ordered take out when I got to the restaurant. They were not very busy, but service was very slow. The girls seemed to be engaged in conversations among themselves and somewhat neglected to see my waiting to place an order. Even though the wait was a little long and I had to make sure....ask that there was silverware (plastic) and especially a spoon for my soup......you would think that would be a natural to add to a take out order since I did mention we were staying at the hotel right behind the restaurant. Had to ask for ketchup and salt and pepper. All in all the food was delicious! I would stop again, and just hope that the service was a little better!

Cold Iron Brewing Company, Ironwood, Michigan: Cold Iron Brewing is located in downtown Ironwood and claims to be the first brewery in the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The brewery opened in March of 2017 and operates its 3-barrel brewing system and taproom inside a building that dates back to 1967. The building was built as the Ottawa National Forest office and reflects the forestry heritage with the beautifully appointed interior. The spacious taproom has a beautiful Douglas Fir roof and is accented by lots of wood and metal, all in keeping with the Cold Iron name. We were there on a quiet Sunday evening so the taproom was relatively quiet. This meant that I was able to talk to Todd behind the bar and he was extremely friendly and welcoming, answering my several questions with a smile. He also helped us to order food from the restaurant next door and even recommended the home fries. This area of Michigan is known for sporting activities such as biking, skiing and snowmobiling so the brewery caters for people enjoying these sports, even down to having a bike rack inside for people who donât want to leave their expensive bikes outside.Inside the tap room there are several individual areas breaking the large space into multiple smaller, more intimate spaces, some with very comfortable couches. They also have bag toss, shuffleboard and multiple other games available inside.Cold Iron also has a great selection of delicious beers and I was able to enjoy a couple of them. The âDrift Northâ IPA is a very smooth and bitter IPA with a hint of sweetness and a great mouth feel. âNancy Jeanâ is a very nice, hoppy, pale ale with a full flavor and a moderate level of bitterness. Both beers scored very highly in my ratings. My Fiancée enjoyed the âHoney Creamâ ale and I also tasted it and found it to be a very well balanced, smooth beer with lots of flavor and not overly sweet.

Nice little restaurant with outdoor decor. Tough night for the family out to dinner though. First, we had other groups sat before us that came in after us. When asking the hostess, her response was âwell, thatâs how I wrote the down!â. Huh? Then, a wait to order drinks, a wait for drinks, and a long wait for food. Some stuff missed that we had to ask for multiple times. Food came in two shifts. Half the table finished their meals, then the other halfâs food showed up. One is these situations is usually understandable, but repeating issues was sign that the place is disheveled. We will try somewhere else next time.

Anytime we come home, a trip to The Bell is a must. We had a large group and wewere seated immediately. Friendly staff and great salad and pizza. A few members broke tradition and had pasta. They enjoyed that as well. Itâs always a good choice... this is a combination of two visits. We went to the new Bell last night with friends. It was even better this time. We will be back.

Great food. Great prices. Warm, fresh bread was terrific. You can't beat the quality and quantity of food for the price.

Surprise for us by family for an anniversary dinner. Our first time here, but we will be sure to stop in whenever in the area. PROS: restaurant has a welcoming ambiance with friendly staff and attentive service. The food was excellent! The ravioli dish and the gnocchi was freshly made and very generous servings with above par salads and dressings. There is a bar that has a decent selection. Prices were reasonable and Enjoyable evening. Recommend.

This would be a real gem of a place to eat if it wasn't for the extreme noise and to sour attitude of the server. They have a large menu and the prices are reasonable. My wife's steak was fantastic with a large pile of sauteed mushrooms. I had goulash which was excellent. Unfortunately the dining are is one big box that echos everything. The place was o noisy that I could not carry on a conversation with my wife and couldn't wait to get out. Our server had a real dour attitude and the service was just minimal. If you don't mind a lot of very loud noise and an uninvolved server, then go here - the food is great. On the other hand, when I go out I like to have a nice relaxed meal - Tis is not the place to do so and I won't be back.

Joe's Pasty Shop was recommended to us by a local, and indeed had by far the best pasties I've eaten in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I can submit a photo of the front of the shop.
Over the past two summers weâve travelled the UP in search of the perfect pasty. Today, we found a finalist at Joes Pasty Shop in Ironwood, Michigan. Theyâve been making them since 1946 and the experience shows. The crust is exceptional and the ingredients are well-seasoned and delicious. Service is very good. Great food. Happy trails.
