Stayed at the main lodge as many times in the past. The service there, the Wolf Creek Bar & Grill, where you can get a beer and a dinner @ any time, the breakfast at the dinning room w/window sitting, excellent service!!! Love horseback riding, so I always sign up for the 10:00 am group ride, always fantastic!!! Thank you all for always making my stay excel my expectations!!!

Chewuch Inn & Cabins lies in the beautiful Methow Valley in the town of Winthrop Washington on the East slope of the North Cascades Mountains. We offer unique accommodations with a hearty breakfast in a lodge atmosphere. Restaurants and shops an easy walk with Alpine and Cross Country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, hiking, river rafting, horse back riding and plenty of scenic drives. A small mountain town setting with big adventure around every turn!
This was our second stay at the Chewuch Inn, and was just as enjoyable as the first. The place is so lovely, the staff are great, the breakfast delicious, we had deer visit at our back door, and it is a great location for both walking into town or nearby hiking. We definitely hope to return!

Walk out the back door of your cabin and experience the Methow Valleys finest. Methow River Lodge & Cabins is located on the Methow River with many recreational activities to be enjoyed year-round just a stone’s throw away. In the winter bordering our property is an ice rink, cross country ski trail, sledding hill, ice skate rental & lessons, ski rental & lessons. When the snow melts the ice rink becomes a soccer field. Other summer activities include fishing, floating the river, wildlife watching, bicycling. Walk across the new Spring Creek Bridge to the western downtown area of Winthrop. These are all activities that can be done without starting your car. Mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding, balloon rides, or sit on the river with a book and relax is always a possibility.
We had a wonderful stay in the end 2 bedroom riverfront cabin. The rooms and baths were clean and there was a kurig coffee maker with several pods in the kitchen. More pods were available in the lobby along with a little gift selection. Our cabin looked out over the river, which was beautiful in the wintertime. We went ice skating one evening and walked into town across the pedestrian bridge several times.

Just steps away from the western saloons and aromatic bakeries of downtown Winthrop, the Hotel Rio Vista's rustic facade blends seamlessly with the town's old-time western atmosphere. Overlooking the confluence of the Chewuch and Methow rivers, the hotel features guest rooms that offer private balconies, hand-crafted wood furniture, and works by local artists. A flat-screen HD television and free wireless internet access keep guests connected, while an outdoor picnic area and riverside hot tub offer the chance to unplug within earshot of the mellifluous sounds of nature and the soaring wings of Eagles and Osprey. For winter adventurers, the hotel is just across the pedestrian bridge from the ice rink and start of the Methow Valley's immaculately groomed ski and fat biking trails. The hotel features a Bike and Ski Wax room just for such outdoor activities. All of the Hotel Rio Vista's rooms include free high speed WIFI, DirecTV HD, private riverside decks, coffee bar with Seattle's Best coffee, mini-fridge, hair dryer, A/C, and microwaves.
I stay at the Hotel Rio Vista any time I'm in Winthrop or the Methow Valley. All the rooms have big windows and a small private deck overlooking the confluence of the Methow and Chewuch rivers. The view is astounding and magical. I stayed there a couple days this week -- the rushing water is such a soothing sound to go to sleep by. I saw a bald eagle fly by and Canada geese were swimming around. It's walking distance to good restaurants (although right now -- April -- is the shoulder season and many restaurants and shops in Winthrop are closed) but the Old Schoolhouse Restaurant with good bar food and burgers was open both nights I was there. The Rio Vista hotel is very clean too and everything in my room worked -- lights, TV, shower, etc. The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The staff hours have been cut back right now due to shoulder season and/or covid, and there was no housekeeping service -- you had to let them know if you needed something but there were plenty of towels and toilet paper in the room. Highly recommended, especially for the wonderful river views.

The AbbyCreek Inn is a family-owned hotel located less than a mile from the old-west town of Winthrop. This newly-renovated hotel offers single King rooms and double queen rooms, with pet-friendly rooms available. All rooms have free Wi-fi internet, Satellite TV with Blu-Ray, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Continental breakfast is offered.
Hands down the worst hotel I have stayed at in decades. Front desk staff are openly hostile. They definitely shouldn't be in the hospitality industry. Out of 6 staff members (including the owner) only one had any interest in being hospitable to their customers. In a week I saw housekeeping once. The rooms are dirty, floors are filthy, stained. This hotel is very noisy and desperately in need of updates. Daylight showing around every door, you can hear conversations in ALL adjoining rooms. Had to ask three times for toilet paper. Winthrop is adorable but Abbey Creek Inn is the worst travel experience I have had in a long time.

We had a really comfortable stay for one night at Winthrop Inn! This place is definitely dated, but our room was very clean and comfortable, so I gave it 5 stars since we were pleasantly surprised. Check-in and out were super easy; I received a text for "after hours" check-in instructions, no issues there, communication was excellent. It was a very affordable, convenient, comfortable option for a quick overnight stay during a road trip.

Quaint 6-room inn offering contactless check-in, with views of Winthrop, the Methow River, and surrounding mountains.
HORRIBLE service, mediocre food. After about 40 minutes our server came back to say she lost our order, so we told her again, when we finally got our food it was not what we had ordered (twice) and was not very good. Find somewhere else to eat!
