Staying at a hotel nearby and Al T’s seemed the best choice of what was available. Tried the special which was a small grilled rib-eye and six fried shrimp....could best be described as “adequate”...bottle of Cabernet (also adequate) was a bargain at $9. Local “spot” for sure. Close to Anahuac NWR which is worth a trip...maybe call visitors center ahead to see what birds are in residence or passing through.

We stopped by here for coffee and mid morning snack. Here you can find European-style, strong coffee such as expressos and lattes and this was very welcome for us coffee-addicts. Various sandwiches, sallads and omelettes were also avaible, the pastry selection was a bit less appealing. Very friendly and helpful staff, efficient service and reasonably priced. Coffeewise this was the highlight of our Texas fortnight.

Stopped in here for some quick breakfast passing through town. I got a cinnamon sugar and a glazed donut. The cinnamon sugar donut was of the cake variety and was very good, the glazed was a yeast donut and was unbelievably good. Tasted like it was just made. Melted in my mouth. Seriously good. They have a wide variety and also kolaches that seem to be popular. There's a drive-thru window that early seems to get pretty backed up. Surely the sign of a good local place. Counter staff were very friendly. There's some seating as well. Definitely stop by....

so nice there, my favorite location of DQs. warm food, sometimes slow. I always dine in but fast food can be a wait if super busy. Clean inside and out. benches have always been small since childhood. lol no playground but can eat on patio that is covered. Great for rainy hot days and ice cream.

Whether you call 'em crayfish, crawfish, crawdads...it doesn't matter. A classic crawfish/shrimp boil joint. We were amazed by the two local teenage girls who had filled a bucket with discarded heads; the waitress said they hat eaten 15 lbs between them! We had had a late breakfast and a snack but need to have lunch on time so we opted for the crawfish grilled cheesed; truly retro: some crawdad tails in melted sliced cheese sandwiched between white bread and grilled. Worked for me!

The food is excellent and servings generous, we had the Carne Guisada and the Alambre dinners. The pre-meal chips and salsa were also good, not greasy and the salsa was eat-it-with-a-spoon tasty. The service was friendly and the empty tables were cleared promptly. The place was packed and more were arriving as we were leaving - a popular eatery for sure!
Next time we go for Spring Migration birding at High Island we will be stopping back here, unless it is on a Sunday, which we discovered it was closed when we came back for our second day bird-watching.

It's such a shame to have a Whataburger in your town & it be a disappointment. This location used to be really good, but that was years ago. More times than not you'll get a mediocre at best meal. Typically the burgers are not hot & fresh. It's like they pre-cook the patties & set them to the side. We've given them chance after chance, but it's just typically not very good.

Right next door to DQ and shopping. Walk friendly. This is authentic food. Sometimes a long wait. And language barrier but worth it. Take someone with you to interpret. lol This is a shared lot with Stratton's auto. [Ace Hardware ]. There is a Market Basket, Family Dollar, Tattoo place and Beauty Barn, car wash on corner. And Pizza Hut on corner near traffic light.

It's Easter Sunday and this restaurant was open. Noisy (from the staff yelling and crashing dishes), dirty and cold. Hot choc was good as was my chicken/bacon/cheese burger. Only cudos for the food and how hard the staff worked. The poor cook had to juggle the orders and wait staff and cook the food to order. I would come back but not if I had a headache.
