This eatery was recommended as the best seafood in the area. It's pretty good. Not gourmet, but for a fisherman's platter, fried scallops, clams--all the traditional seafood in the American cuisine, we go here.
Funny story: I am kind of a health nut, and when I ordered the all-fried fisherman's platter, my husband said, "What are you doing?" I said, "I don't know, it's kind of a childhood memory."
Later, in the month, I was watching Anthony Bourdain's travel piece on New Jersey (no kidding), and he went into a place in NJ and ordered the fisherman's platter. He admitted it was counter-culture with health stuff and all, but he said, "I don't know, it's kind of a chlldhood memory." Again no kidding. Funny, right?
When we want fine dining seafood, we have our fav in Jamestown, RI--Jamestown Fish.

Love, love, love their ice cream. There is nothing like fresh homemade ice cream. Summer wouldn't be complete without a visit to Collins Creamery.

Tunxis presented good atmosphere and great menu options. Dinner was casual, enjoyable, and relaxed.
We had a small business dinner on a Monday night, so crowds were not a factor.
We ordered 2 appetizers, eggplant fries and sprouts. Both were more than ample portions and both were delicious.
Dinner was wonderful, service was great, and I prices were reasonable.
I would recommend this restaurant.

I wish there were more It's a Grind's in the area. The environment is great and staff friendly but the reason I keep coming back is always the coffee. They always have unique flavors and fantastic beans you can purchase. This is the only place I will buy my beans and I'll make the 45 minute drive every few weeks to pick up another pound of beans.

Stopped in for a quick dinner before going to my hotel. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the pork spring rolls and potstickers. Great choice. Then I had a bowl of beef Pho soup. Besides being very filling, it was fantastic. Whether you're at an airport hotel or just driving through, this is a must stop restaurant.

Dunkin needs to fix the problem where the entire line is held up when one person wants to special order everything. Sometimes, all you want is a donut and coffee...or just a donut..and it just isnlt happening.
This location seems to be worse than others.
God bless the employees, they are kind and helpful, its not their fault, its a poor design.

We locals just love our Dairy Cream! Offering soft serve, milk shakes, frozen yogurt, flurries, sundaes and hard ice cream, it is the best place to have a treat on a hot summer night. Don't be intimidated by the long lines...They keep the crowds moving! And the ice cream is worth waiting for! My kids and I love going here and are always sad when it closes for the season. Try the Hot fudge sundae with peanut butter sauce!

Nice Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is more dinner type which was fine with me. Bread came with dinner and the rolls were great. Salad was fresh. I had the clam chowder and it was very good. Entrees are large and good.

We stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The inside is small, so a big group is not advisable. I had the meat lovers omelet. It was fantastic and the home fries were good. Wife had French toast that she said was excellent. Good bacon also. One word of warning, this place only takes CASH! There is an ATM machine in the corner.

I noticed this place a couple of years ago and when my friend and I were in Windsor Locks again today I said, wasn't there an ice cream place around here somewhere? "It was green", I said. "And it had 'Dairy" in the name."
And voila there it appeared. We had pizza at the Skyline and backtracked. It was ten to eight on a Sunday night and I was hoping it would still be open.
Not only was it open, but the line was about 20 deep. On a May night when the temp is supposed to come within one degree of breaking a cold record from 1878. Old, young, black, white, with dogs, with kids, without dogs, without kids, single, couples, people in parkas and people in t-shirts, waiting for ice cream.
I got the soft and my friend got the "Grasshopper Pie" hard ice cream. We both enjoyed it, although I wouldn't say it's the best I ever had and she agreed. And yet the whole time we were there chatting and eating (about 30 minutes) the line never got shorter; in fact it just grew, till it was always ending out in the parking lot. I checked here and the only bad review is someone who found it closed for the season - someone from Florida who wanted to try it! It's good ice cream, but I am still just flabbergasted that it was so mobbed on a work and school night in May with temps in the low 50s.
Maybe some of the other treats are real standouts...
