My wife and I booked a trip to celebrate my 40th birthday! They did not disappoint. The lodging was nice, the pool and hot tub were clean and comfortable, and the food was fantastic. I did the 3-day BBQ camp and that was fun as well. Wimberly is a neat community as well and we enjoyed our time there.

We stayed in April 2022 in Yellow Cottage. It has a charming exterior and felt new, fresh and modern inside. There is plenty of space for a couple with a very comfortable bed, breakfast area, kitchenette with coffee station and living area with faux fireplace which has multiple light settings. The bathroom is a bit small with minimal space for toiletries. More space for toiletries would be nice. A wonderful feature is their pet-friendly policy. Our 8 pound dog was with us. There is a dog park and they provided a dog bed and other treats for her. We highly recommend Cypress Creek Cottages.

I don’t know how someone can own a hospitality business and hate customers. The owner of Creekhaven very nearly killed my wife with her stupid – and illegal – rules. No, I’m not exaggerating. We stayed at Creekhaven at my son’s recommendation, for his wedding weekend. Because of the SXSW festival, everything was sold out, so we couldn’t move to another hotel once we became aware of the owner’s life-threatening rule. The ADA is a federal law that requires hotels to accommodate service animals. B&Bs are exempt if they have fewer than five rooms, because they’re assumed to be owner-occupied side businesses. Creekhaven does not qualify for the exemption. Yes, there are pet owners who abuse the ADA, but there are also countless legitimate service animals. Our dog, a very small and exceptionally well-behaved dog, has been trained to bark only for two things: when my wife is having a diabetic sugar crash, or when there’s an intruder. Even after being told >>> that the dog was a certified health-related service dog (by law, we’re not required to specify the ailment), >>> that we’d take responsibility if there was our dog caused any damage whatsoever, and >>> that federal law requires Creekhaven to allow service animals, the owner adamantly refused. Our assistant, who was staying elsewhere, kept the service dog with him, to accommodate Creekhaven’s demands. When he stopped by to see how we were faring, he brought her in for a few minutes, because it’s dangerous to leave an unattended animal in a car. Sure enough, the owner came rushing over, demanding that he take the dog and leave. Anyway, we were without our service dog for two nights. The second night, my wife had a sugar crash. Normally, our dog would have barked well before it got bad (when her “mom’s” sugar is low, she can smell a difference and hear a different sleep pattern). I woke up to find that my wife in a near-coma condition. Thank goodness she was still slightly conscious, if oblivious, so she could swallow some orange juice that I found in the B&B kitchen. If I hadn’t woken up when I did, she would have been dead within the hour. Indeed, most of us would be dead long before reaching her sugar level of 22. Our third and last night, we snuck our service dog in with us and, of course, she didn’t bark all night. There were other less dangerous rules. Another wedding guest was also staying at Creekhaven. He’s an occasional smoker. The rooms are non-smoking, so he went out to his front porch for a smoke. The owner came beetling over to tell him that he had to stand in the road if he wanted to smoke. As it’s her property, this requirement is perfectly legal, but awfully petty. Our room was up the stairs immediately behind the kitchen (I think ours was the only room that was through the kitchen). When the kitchen was unoccupied, we walked through the kitchen to the stairs, and up to our room. We obviously didn’t see anything wrong with doing so. Our assistant then tried the same, and was forcefully told (by the owner, of course) that he’d have to go out the front door, down to the road, then back up on the outdoor stairs that, in turn, led to the stairs to our room. Roughly 100 paces and 20-30 rough-hewn rock steps, to avoid five paces through the forbidden kitchen territory. After that, she put signs at both ends of the kitchen telling guests to keep out. As a senior citizen, I found the rock steps to be unfriendly to my bad knees. Again, legal but stupid. Creekhaven has some lovely staff. They deserve a boss who cares about other human beings, as they do. So do their customers. This owner clearly does not. Final proof of the latter? I know that the owner was informed that my wife could have died because our service dog was forbidden to stay with us. She never bothered to call or email to apologize. The only reason I can think to NOT apologize under such circumstances is if the owner cares more about her myriad rules than for her customers’ right to exist on the planet.

We offer both individual family style cabins and large group lodges. While staying at 7A, be sure and visit Pioneer Town, a reconstructed western town of the 1880's. Whether you are coming to relax, enjoy the river, or experience Wimberley, comes see why so many people love to "get away to 7A"!
We stayed in one of the classic cabins and really enjoyed our stay! Our cabin was clean and had ready access to the Blanco River. The view is lovely and it's wonderful to wake up to bird song every morning. There are some very large geese that honk at you for food, but leave you alone after finding that you have none. I would have loved to have a drying rack for dishes, but wash towels are provided to dry things up. Overall, a lovely stay, easy check in, and ready access to the river. Definitely recommend!

We loved staying at the Mountain View Lodge! The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The views of the mountains are spectacular! It was nice sitting out on their deck and watching the sun set. We have stayed here several times in the past and have always enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed shopping in Wimberley. We went during Christmas this last time and enjoyed going to the Trail of Lights and our daughter really enjoyed the llamas that came for a visit that night. We would highly recommend staying at the Mountain View Lodge!!

Chef Alex is amazing. And the chocolate tart! Oh my my. Try the chef’s tasting menu, it’s such fresh produce and perfect execution. Even the wine pairing is great. Our first glamping trip ever, and we’ll definitely do it again. The entire experience is just awesome.
