Growing up on the Mekong Delta in a home often filled with simmering pots of pho broth and meals brimming with fresh ingredients, Chef Chris (formerly owner/head chef at Saigon Saigon, Hong Kong) together with old school friend Chef Dong with 20 years exp
Excellent food.Have had Pho & the meat was tender & the soup rich with complex flavours. On another occasion had the pork knuckle. Crispy crackling outside & nice flavour. A bit dry, however the accompanying sauce was spot on.We shared the knuckle for 2 which was a good idea, as we also had entree each & it was the right amount of food.Owner/Manager is very personable, warm & genuine.

We just loved the generous and tasty servings we had at our recent visit to this spacious restaurant in Chatswood recently. Fresh ingrendients, stunning flavours and a good wine list and bar. Even though we were there during a super busy time, that is, during Vivid Chatswood, we still gotta great food and service. Highly recommended.

There has been a casual Vietnamese restaurant at this site for years with the odd renovations. A few months ago there was a name change and the interior of the restaurant had been refreshed. On the whole, the renovation was worthwhile. It became brighter and the seating became a little more spacious which is a nice break from the "let's cramp in one more table" status quo.On the food front, changes have been less obvious. The menu is new (as in newly printed) but items inside are fairly familiar. The standard flag bearers like pho, rice paper rolls and various version of tomato rice are all present. They are not bad, just samey. The food was above average. A couple of minor grumble being the beef on top of the pho was mostly cooked by the time it arrived. It was still tender and generous in serving but you kind of want to control the doneness if you can. The stir fried rice noodles was on the oily side as well.So if you are looking for the same comfort food and to cover the "can't be bothered to cook" moment then Phood will suit you to a T. If you want edgy fusion breakout dishes then look elsewhere.
