Quick and easy service Staff very friendly especially with the young children running around. Great location within the middle of the town easy access and parking right outside the pub made it even my grandson (2) liked it Only disappointment was only baby changing facilities...MoreThanks Allan, we have changing facilities available downstairs for all to use. We used to have them in the gents toilets but too many “big babies” on the weekends were damaging them.

This was a delight to find such a good bistro in Wick. The outside of the building appears dingy and a wee bit off-putting but the welcome inside is excellent and this more than makes up for it.
The menu is excellent, the fish dishes are varied and delicious.
I will definitely be back.

World record holder for the shortest street in the world.
Had dinner here a couple of times this week whilst staying in the hotel.
First night had a starter and main off the specials board. Both outstanding with the fish cooked perfectly, moist and succulent. As I am rather partial to rhubarb decided on the soufflé for dessert which was rather disappointing as did not have much if any flavour of rhubarb.
Second night had scallops to start and hake as a main. Once again fish cooked perfectly and both courses were really enjoyed.
All courses presented really well in a relaxing environment.
Service was friendly and efficient.
As others have mentioned the courses are not overly large but suited me perfectly and did not feel hungry afterwards.
Prices are on the high side but the quality and presentation more than make up for that. Received a complimentary whisky liqueur after both meals. I am not a fan of whisky at all but it didn't really taste of whisky but did smell the same although it tasted different to me on both nights but was apparently the same liqueur.
All in all very impressed

We visited this Indian restaurant on a Monday night, and were disconcerted to be the only table used in such a large restaurant. The waiter too seemed baffled by the lack of other customers. Food nice but felt over-priced, especially with charging for a pickle tray, that was just placed on our table unordered. Perhaps better to ask the customers and tell them so they can make an informed choice.

Came here for dinner after being shopping. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is made fresh and is delicious. Both myself and partner had a pasta dish and they were both full of flavour and our boy had a pizza which he really enjoyed but he unfortunately was not able to finish it all so the staff put the rest in a pizza box for him to take home so he was delighted. The whole meal was very reasonably priced and we will definitely be returning again another day.

Telford's Cafe is a bright, modern and relaxing Cafe in the area of Pulteneytown in Wick. We use local ingredients as much as we can. All our home baking is made on site each day, freshly prepared for you! Telford's is a lovely cafe for breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake with a friend.
Went with the family for Nanna's 90th after Reading great reviews about pensioners meals and were not disappointed. Great food, great service, and even when Nanna had her little accident, staff straight to help mopping up her mess. Will definitely be back. Thankyou.

Just round the corner from the heritage museum. We visited for morning coffee, then back for lunch. Friendly service. Find a table, order at the counter. The food arrives quickly, apple & cinnamon scone delicious. Haddock and chips at lunchtime was breaded. Very tasty. I tried a Cranachan cup (traditional Scottish recipe) which was delicious. Easy access loos, a great experience.

I phoned this supposedly first class hotel over a week ago to book afternoon tea for myself, my friend and her baby. We thought it would be interesting to visit an historic building and it was a change from our usual lunch at Mackays in Wick.
I was greatly disappointed and shocked to be told that the venue does not provide any wheelchair access at all, not even to the ground floor. I was told, quite abruptly and without apology that there was an eight inch step, no ramp and no disabled toilet facilities, I was told that there used to be level access but the hotel decided to block it with a new reception desk. There was no offer of help to facilitate our visit. I was told that someone would phone me back and I'm still waiting. I understand this is an ancient building and access to upper levels might not be possible but there must be at least some provision for wheelchair users. Excluding disabled people in this way is in breach of the Disability Discrimination Act (as well as being discourteous). It may also be in breach of the latest building regulations. This is not the type of service I would expect from a so-called 'elite' venue who could easily afford a ramp and an accessible toilet. Even back street cafes and corner shops try to meet the needs of a large section of the population who have money to spend and enjoy eating out the same as anyone else. Quite frankly the experience I had of the Ackergill Tower can only be called disgusting. It makes us wonder, given the high class aura this place tries to cultivate, whether wheelchair users are not sufficiently glamorous to be allowed admittance? In any case, we had a wonderful lunch at Mackays instead, where the food and the welcome is always faultless.

Had lunch here on two consecutive days. Really tasty, well cooked food, nice wee menu for the kids. Prices very reasonable, and considering how busy the place was,we didn't wait long. Morag, herself,a really pleasant hardworking person, really cheery,we will be back, when next in area.

This lovely hotel was a great find for me. The welcome upon arrival was warm and friendly and the room a good size for 2, large for just me.
The shower is luxurious. Great pressure and hot water aplenty.
Breakfast was hot, very tasty and cooked to order.
All in all I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel and will be back again soon.
