Waterdrop Teahouse is a vegetarian teahouse / cafe located in Fo Guang Shan Er You Temple (Ground Floor).
A lovely restaurant with relaxed atmosphere, and because it's in a buddist temple, it has a religious ambience but never overwhelming. The restaurant is on the ground floor. The decor is simple and modern, almost like a caferteria. The staff are very friendly and look more like volunteers than professionals. Upstairs, there are two levels for religious worship and prayers open to anyone who are inclined. The food is very authentic and delightful (I'm very familiar with Chinese vegetarian dishes. I seek them out whenever I'm in Hong Kong and other asian countries). It's not just all vegetables but there is meat as well like chicken and pork. Of course they are fake but the taste and texture are like real ones.I shall list the dishes we've tried.1. Vegetarian BBQ Pork with Special Sauce. The dish comes with a bowl of steamed rice, a small bowl of Wonton soup, a small amount of pickels, a couple slices of fresh fruit. The cooking, particularly the pork was excellent. $11.50 highly recommended2. Fried Vermicelli. It had a simple but tasty flavour, not like the general strong, heavy and spicy cooking. The ingridients included some meat which were delicious. $10.50 recommended3. Spring rolls. One of the best I've ever in this country. I ordered them everytime when I went back. $6.50 (4 pieces) 4. Deep-fried Crispy Curry Puffs. Spicy and delicious. $6.50 (4 pieces)5. Vegetable and Mushroom Buns. The texture of the filling is like real minced pork. I imagine some people might find it a bit plain. But they are very popular. $6.50 (4 pieces)6. Kumquat Tea. In a teapot big enough for two, refillable with water. It has a very attractive fragrance and golden colour and tastes beautiful. Lovely with the mea. $7.00

Have been coming here for years. We shared two ducks between six An early Tuesday night sitting, not too crowded, not noisy, prompt service and crispy ducks, rice noodles and Chinese broccoli. Worth the hike from BRIGHTON.

Poor service. Extremely large portions, cheap food; however the most tasteless pork buns I have ever tried.

We had a very adventurous family visit to this excellent restaurant. Guided by the staff, we chose an amazing fish dish and a very hot BBQ pork ribs to share. Be prepared for the warmth of the 12 different chillies! Being new to the area, we didn't know about the hot pots that we saw many of the other people enjoying. Maybe next time.

This was my first time to Vegie Hut. Really liked the decor and staff were friendly. I ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup and it came with mock seafood (looked like prawns). It was really delicious and generous. I would come back to try their other meals.

We have eaten here twice and on each occasion the star are the BBQ meats. Sure they cook other dishes and the char kway teow is pretty good too. You get a complementary bowl of soup as you sit down. Forget the service, focus on the food. If you are coming in the evening, come early. The queues are long. Many are take outs but the turn over is quick. The other place on the same street is strangely quiet by comparison. This tells you everything.

It always makes me happy when the dumpling size is a 2 bite affair. Friendly, efficient service and delicious food. We had the Peking pork steamed dumplings, pan fried chicken and prawn dumplings with big meaty bits in them, mixed steamed dumplings and stir fried broccoli - because u should eat your greens. Recommend the pan fried as the dumplings are steamed but then nicely caramalised on one side in the pan. Some dumplings come in a 8 or 15 serve, handy to try more varieties. Also check out the specials that are on paper on the back wall and take note that the stir fry dishes come out faster than the dumplings. Prices r very reasonable for excellent quality food

It is a challenge to find good Cantonese food with just as good customer service. We found it last night at Penang Inn. We had pre-booked the Braised Pork Knuckle with Fried Bread, Teochew Seamed Wild Barramundi. Both dishes were cooked perfectly - the meat from the pork knuckle fell off the bone, meat was smooth & succulent. The fish was also perfectly cooked to tenderness, accompanied by the salted pickled vegetable & mushrooms.Broccoli with Salted Fish & Calamari in Duck Egg Yolks were also perfectly cooked. Serves were generous. There are other interesting dishes we would like to try in future & wil definitely return.Waiting staff was attentive, particularly Miko who gave us so much information on menu dishes, & ensured the dishes were paced so that we could enjoy each dish slowly.Parking is available off the street, either on Whitehorse Road or Docking Road.Highly recommended!

Very creative concept by having a small food court concept / trying to impersonate the Asian hawker market style labelled as Kitchen Republic.Pretty much they've already covered most of the food options around this suburb. They have plenty of food options such as, dumplings (xiao long bao), bento, noodle and others. The restaurant was very spacious and they had upstairs and downstairs section. We went there pretty late around 8.30 PM but the place was still busy, we reckoned many people just like hanging out in that restaurant. The vibe was pretty nice, great to hangout with big group of friends. We ordered:- No. 901 (Taiwanese XML Crispy Fried Chicken Rice Box - A large crispy coated boneless chicken fillet) for $12.50.The portion was generous and presentation was pretty good and appealing. The chicken was crispy on the top part unfortunately on another part it wasn't crispy at all. It was oily and soggy, we were quite disappointed with this dish because we had high expectation with the great presentation. The taste was alright, we didn't find any special on this dish only the portion.- No. 913 (Three cup chicken on rice - cooked with soya, wine and sesame oil) for $11.50.We prefer this dish compared to the Crispy Fried Chicken. It was great combination and balance with soya, wine and sesame oil. The chicken was nicely cooked, it was tender, soft and juicy. Unfortunately, it was slightly salty.Overall, the place was great but the food was so so. Service: 3.0Taste: 2.5Price: 3.0Speed: 3.0Yay: The restaurant was very spacious, plenty of optionsNay: Crispy fried chicken dish wasn't crispy, very standard taste

We have irregular dinners here with a group of ex work colleagues. This time there were 8. We always start with a mixed selection of dumplings - ask for their chilli in oil that they make on the premises for something different. 6 dumplings later we shared 4 meals and after that we were seriously full. The service is always friendly and courteous, the dumplings are delicious and the meals are tasty and cooked perfectly. They know exactly what they are doing which is why they win so many awards!
