I check into this hotel on April 22nd for a two nights stay for my brothers wedding. Upon arriving I was greeted by a Guest Service Agent who was very pleasant. As she proceeded to check me in, I realized that my room rate had increased by about $20 per night and was told that it was because they were unable to charge my card in advance due to insufficient funds which I knew was untrue. When I asked for the MOD, I spoke to Anthony who stated that my IHG Rewards Member booking rate wasn’t available because the expiration date on my credit card was entered incorrectly. Because I was tired from the 9 hour drive to the hotel and needed to quickly shower and change for the wedding rehearsal, I checked in anyway thinking “I’ll deal with this later.” Well I checked into my room on the second floor and upon a brief inspection, I immediately noticed the room had not been properly cleaned. Handwritten notes were in the top drawer, the armoire closet had crumbs and dust particles, there was hair on the toilet seat, and the tub was dirty or stained. I called the front desk and received Anthony who said he would move me to another room. I asked him to make sure the room was inspected by housekeeping first. I didn’t know that at that same time he was assisting my sister sister was also checked into a dirty room as well (kids chalk drawing on the the bed, leftover pieces of chalk in the sheets, dirty bathroom). My niece stated that when Anthony came to look at the room he even wiped his finger across the vent and then looked at it and made a sound of disgust. Meanwhile, by the time I received keys and moved to the a new “cleaner” room we had missed the wedding rehearsal and the two rooms included 2 bridesmaids, the maid of honor, and ring bearer. Fast forward and we begin to hear very loud consistent stomping for about 40 mins coming from the room above. I called the front desk and asked them to call the guest above - the noise continued for another 20-30 mins. Eventually I called the room myself and they apologized and the noise ended immediately. Because it was the weekend, Lauren Paisely, the General Manager was off duty but I later spoke to her via phone and she seemed very uninterested and even made excuses for the uncleanliness. Keep in mind we are still in a global Pandemic and people are literally dying from the spread of germs and sickness. I asked if the hotel was owned by IHG or a franchise and she did disclose that it was privately owned but refused to give her bosses name. I have graduated from FAU’s Hospitality & Tourism Management Program, worked as a Front Office Manager, and the fact that I had to end the call asking Lauren “So how do you or would you rectify this situation for your guests Lauren? Or would you even do anything?” was well below what I know to meet guest service standards for most hotels. After I asked, she offered hotel points. I don’t plan on staying at an IHG property for awhile and would not recommend this property if I did and after speaking to her I realized I should’ve requested a full refund. Money is replaceable but this stay ruined part of the most important day in my brothers life and could’ve affected all of our health. I’ve been super busy but I did find the appropriate Franchise contacts through LinkedIn and will reach out via phone this week.

The ride into the front entrance was loaded with potholes. The Front desk girl had zero people skills and did not give us any sort of friendly greeting. We basically got keys and end of conversation. The place is a disaster area. Everything needs a renovation. They say they are renovating but it is evident they have no plans to do so. I really feel bad for the employees as most were very friendly. The room was livable after I re-cleaned and bleached everything. There are zero amenities open. The lake is overgrown the mini golf is closed and run down. Everything was broken in the game room. The only thing open was the indoor pool. It was very old and we did not go in. Hot tubs are broken and not opening anytime soon. The grounds are not groomed and honestly the entire place looks closed or should be closed. The website is very deceiving. It definitely has potential but I would stay elsewhere if possible.

We have stayed here since 2016. The condition of the hotel has really gone downhill. The pool was horrible! Literally tufts/clumps of black hair at the bottom with dirt & leaves. Too grossed out to even put a foot in. The hot tub was lined with caution tape & cement around the pool was all cracked. Do NOT believe the pictures on their website are accurate. See mine. The smoke detector was found on the safe with wires hanging from where it should have been mounted. Pretty dangerous! Bathrooms need updating. The caulk around the tub is thick and green. The hallways reek of cheap marijuana. We held our breath on the way to the room. It may be difficult to keep up with maintenance items with the pandemic but there is no excuse for rude staff. Khadijah at the front desk barely looked up or took the time to speak to us. No hello just “ID & credit card”. Then passed me a paper & pen with no explanation of what I was to sign or what it was for. I asked for the 5th or 6th floor because the rooms tend to be less noisy. She said “they are already assigned & couldn’t do anything about it “. Claiming they were fully booked. There were only a few cars in the parking lot, so I did check her claim out online, the site showed several rooms available, she just lied to us. It’s sad how customer service doesn’t seem to exist anymore. The staff had always been very nice and friendly here. I was very disappointed with this experience.

Very large, clean room at a great price. I will return anytime my travels bring me this way. Quiet, out of the way location, yet easily accessed from I-80 or I-476. Restaraunts are nearby at I-476 junction.

My friend and I stayed at the Country Place Inn & Suites over Labor Day weekend as all the nicer places were booked. It was cheaper than some other hotels so at least my friend and I could each have our own room. However, it turned out to be particularly awful 1.) Everything in the bedrooms and bathrooms was dirty except the sheets and towels. When I complained after the first night, the man behind the desk (his family appeared to live there) said he'd clean it himself, but he did not. 2.) My room had the worst mattress I have ever encountered, and I'm not picky. It was as soft as the world's fluffiest pillow. which sounds nice, but what it meant was my relatively light torso sunk in about 18 inches, while my feet and head sunk in less than 6 inches. So I was curved into a very uncomfortable shape and I got almost no sleep. 3.) While this complaint won't matter to most people, it's still ridiculous: The staff deliberately removes all the tub stops so guests can't take baths (and overflow the tubs). For medical reasons I was supposed to take two baths a day, which I explained, but they wouldn't give me a tub stopper. Eventually they did,, which was an improvement, but of course I had to clean the tub myself before I could take a bath.
