Went here on my trip around the world to meet a friend who I had no idea lived in Malta. He recommended it and I was next door at the silent city looking for game of thrones locations. I stopped in and met either the owner or manager who laid out a fantastic cheese and a wine I've been looking for since. Incredibly helpful and friendly with great recommendations. And, I'll be honest, while I love the often random and often rustic charm of Malta, this was as well run and upscale of a place as you'd find in Soho - only without the attitude. Drop by for a glass, some conversation and a very pleasant time.

A perfect spot for couples' night out or even for a group of friends.Good selection of wines plus appetizing platters.Might be an issue to find a parking very near, but one can park in the piazza, with just 3 to 4 minutes walk.Recommendation: If you're a group of up to 10 ppl, book the terrace and you would enjoy the atmosphere of a wine bar while feeling having the comfort of having a private area.

1640 Wine room is situiated in the heart of Dingli, just a few meters down from the Dingli Police Station. The wine bar forms part of an old tenant house built in 1640. It is now converted into a beautiful wine bar with unique features and old world charm
We dropped into 1640 because we really needed to find a toilet in this small village. Ramon, was most obliging and allowed us to use his facilities. We decided to buy a drink but he also brought us a wonderful pizza to eat, which was complimentary. Kindness beyond the call of duty. The restaurant also has a take-away and at the time of our visit this was really busy. This café deserves to do well.

Beautiful setting seated at the balcony overlooking the old Church. An exquisite dining experience with my spouse. Excellent service, nice friendly and courteous management & staff and to top it all off - delicious food. Leave some space for desert.

A gem of a wine bar / cafe in the heart of the medieval city of Mdina. Visit us for morning coffees and cakes. We offer healthy eats at lunch time, Maltese platters, cheeses, cold cuts and wraps made with fresh local produce. Treat yourself to a glass of
Slightly off the beaten track within the âsilent cityâ most people miss this excellent little restaurant - their loss. There is a good selection of tasty, local fare and seating available both inside the restaurant and outside in the square. The best part of all is that it feels peaceful and a little oasis apart from the masses patrolling the streets of Mdina a few yards away.
