Find out what Wine Bar restaurants to try in Portofino. One of the most popular resort towns on the Italian Riviera, little Portofino has just over 500 permanent residents. But that all changes on summer days when the sun is shining and the yachting set drops anchor in the harbor to wander about. Boutiques, art galleries, cafes and restaurants line the tiny streets. Diving, hiking and beach-going are popular local pastimes, and there are even some historic sights like the Church of St. Martin (Divo Martino) and the Castello Brown hilltop fortress.

Wine store with the largest selection in town of the best Italian wines Wines by the glass and fine nibbles We don't take reservations
We were oh so lucky to get a table here when we visited Portofino, it was an extremely busy day and a table for two was vacated as we lingered nearby. We definitely know how to linger..Situated on the left of the harbour/marina as you look out from land, we enjoyed a simple glass of wine and a plate of decent charcuterie for â¬15 each which is not to be sniffed at here. You can generally expect to pay up to 50% more for food and drink here due to its popularity. We stayed awhile, soaked up the scenery and enjoyed some people watching before giving up our much sought after seats to the next pair of lingering loiterers. You have to share the love..

Centenarian wine shop in the entre of Santa Margherita Ligure.Gives the opportunity of have appetizers, lunch and dinner full of local and nationa specialities.Large wine vault with reasonable prices.friendly atmosphere Since 1910.
We asked a local where they would go for lunch and they recommended Machiavelli. As the sky was getting dark we figure we would duck into this place for lunch whilst the rain passed. It was great on all levels. The quality of food, the service and the wine was all exceptional. More importantly the owner was awesome. The rain did not let up and it was quite heavy for 4 hours. Most of the customers had left and all the staff had left with the exception of the owner. There was no one left in the restaurant except two other couples with no umbrella. We stayed until 4:00, well past closing time. Not once did the owner suggest we leave. It was a nice time to spend time with other fellow travellers and share stories over glasses of wine. I wish tothank the owner for his hospitality and understanding. Based on this experience you will be very successful.

Sabot Italia is an American bar in the heart of Santa Margherita Ligure since 1992, a wine bar with a wide range of fine wines.
Sabot serves excellent aperitivi from 5-9pm - generous portions of salami, cheese, olives, bread sticks and ham, all complementary with drinks in the evening. We'd just been in Portofino where the prices are so outrageous that we were thrilled to find Sabot serving equivalent drinks for less than half the price. The waiter was very friendly and refilled our food platter without asking. Great music there too.

Loved the place. Right next to the old castle facing the sea. The service was very good and friendly. A very wide drinks menu. Tried local beers and loved them. They serve a complementary snacks platter which is quite nice and sumptuous. Definitely recommended for a fun evening.
