We stopped here for lunch during a heavy rain shower in Pienza. My parents and I really enjoyed it. Super fresh bread, cheese and salami - delicious. The wine came recommended and and was very good. The highlight was the delicious apricot and walnut cake served with coffee - melt in the mouth. Pienza is not a cheap place but we thought this was quality and the two ladies in the restaurant were extremely friendly. I'd recommend a stop here for refreshment.

Allow me to join the group of dissatisfied clients of this restaurant. We were greeted immediately as we sat down outside with a request for water which was brought to us quickly. Thatâs where it all changed. There were 8 people eating and 2 more arrived 10 minutes after us. I had to remind them that we were next in the order. About 10 minutes later they took our order which included one beer a Panini, and a hot meal. Ten minutes after taking the couple that arrived after us order their (salad) arrived. No problem as salads donât take long to prepare. Meanwhile we waited and waited and waited for at least my beer to be served. After a 45 minute wait we told them we no longer wanted our order and left. The fact of the matter is that they were in the process of making the Panini we ordered several minutes before. I know Italians like to enjoy long eating periods (Iâm Italian) but not long waiting to be served periods. Forget this place and enjoy one of the other restaurants in Pienza.

Went in for a spontaneous cheese and wine tasting without any expectations, and the owner blew us away with amazing food and drinks along with great stories and info about them. Very reasonably priced and great value. Definitely check this relatively new place out, for a quick chat with the wonderful people if not for anything else.

"La Guardiola", is the name of the new lounge bar of Monticchiello, which, in conjunction with the B & B La casa di Adelina, offers to locals and visitors of Val d'Orcia a service worthy of a breathtaking and unique in the world that is part of UNESCO fro
Awesome view from this small, delicious wine bar/restaurant at the entry to Monticchiello town. It was a very cold spring day and we were tired from our travels so the Ribollita soup and beef stew were warm and just what we needed. La Guardiola has a great wine selection, you can even purchase bottles and take out, which we did. Great spot to enjoy a lovely light meal and the gelato is to die for.

We were looking for a place for lunch that was a little different. This place fit the bill. We sat at a sunny table outside and had the fondue (melted pecorino with truffle oil--amazing!), a crostini and a plate of vegetables. A couple of glasses of Brunello di Montalcino and we had a delightful meal. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. The food was prepared fresh and with care. There are vegan selections available.
