Tapas Y Copas - That's what we are all about! Gutsy Spanish produce and flavours cooked to order in our open kitchen and complemented by our 100% Spanish Wine, Sherry & Cava selection. Our extensive Cocktail List also has a distinct Spanish flavour to it.
Popped in for a quick beer and ended up eating too. Super service! Nick, General Manager, was our host. Credit to Bar 44. Will definitely be back.

We booked for their sharing steak platter with two friends last week. The Exchange Hotel where the restaurant is situated is a fantastic old building with an enormous amount of history and ambience - well worth a look around on your visit!I was a little worried when we arrived just after 7 for a 7.30pm booking and the place was empty. However, we were greeted by the friendly barman and head waiter, who served us some great drinks as we sat at the bar. As we were having the sharing steak platter which we were advised our meal would take around 40 minutes to prepare. We ordered some sharing nibbles of the menu which arrived tasty and was readily consumed. We looked at the wine menu, and had some great tips provided by the waiter - which proved to be an excellent decision! The place gradually started to fill up and was getting fairly busy as the evening drew on.The food was excellent - the rib-eye steak was delicious and tender and cooked perfectly. The waiter was attentive, friendly and not pushy and gave us plenty of time between courses. The desserts were great to, as was a glass of port to finish the meal. All in all it was an excellent meal, and excellent venue and a very pleasant dining experience. We'd definitely go back for another meal there. Highly recommended.Hi,Simon thank you very much for your 5 star review, glad you enjoyed our steak sharer and service from my staff, I will let my staff know about your lovely review towards them, hope to see you soon again to try our other dishes from our ala carte menuThanks

The Bar 44 Group of Tapas Bars are all slightly different with their own unique menus and ambience. There is, however, one common theme which runs through them all....the passion and desire to bring the very best food, drink and hospitality from modern Sp
This is a busy bar/restaurant. There are restaurant tables and less formal stools and bars where you can eat and drink. The staff were really good fun. Cheerful and talkative but not obtrusive. The tapas were fantastic. Wine not too expensive. A really good night out with friends.

Came here last week with the wife and had a wine tasting experience which was very enjoyable indeed. Our wine expert Matt was engaging and highly knowledgeable, and we came away full of information about the wines, which were fantastic. The meats and cheeses were also delicious, particularly the smoked cheese. Could not recommend higher.
