Merħba, as we like to say in Maltese, to Taâ Rinaldu ristobar. The words âfreshâ, âauthenticâ and âcreativeâ are the hallmarks upon which we continuously strive to provide with each serving from our kitchen. Here at Taâ Rinaldu ristobar, we seek to provid
Excellent food, generous portions and efficient friendly service. The place is very well kept with original architectural features dating back many years. The cellar offers the perfect atmosphere for a private night out with friends.

This is an odd and delightful place. There is a Moroccan vibe. Reservations are a must. Itâs cash only. Itâs a small plate/shared plate model. Food is locally sourced. There were six of us and we crowded the small interior. Alissa provided excellent service and guided us through the menu making appreciated suggestions. Adding to the pleasure was the presence of a talented piano player. We were charmed, well fed and well cared for. We tried it all.....multiple bruschetta, (the Louis was a favorite) flat breads, which resemble fresh folded tortillas stuffed with cheese, meat and arugula and a giant sliced meat cured meat and cheese platter. Each order was well explained by Alissa, which prevented surprises and built anticipation. Local beer and wines were enjoyed with the food. This is a great place for relaxing and enjoying the non typical menu.

This lovely cellar restaurant is situated in the beautiful area of Birgu, up in the old town (give yourself time to wander the lovely old streets). We were warmly greeted by the very friendly and professional staff and enjoyed an excellent meal. The wine list is the most extensive I've ever seen but has a very good choice at all ends of the price scale (we developed a real liking for Maltese wines during our stay). The portions were very good and the choices were different to other restaurants we'd visited, which often seemed very similar. The ambience is great and prices sensible. I went for the pear and walnut pasta dish on one of my evenings (having been told that it is an unusual dish and very sweet) and it was delicious - yes, definitely different but really nice. Although in Malta only a short while and with loads of restaurant choices, we enjoyed our evening so much, we returned for a 2nd visit - no better recommendation than that.
