Our food takes inspiration from our travels across the globe . We present to you the best local produce from the region and beyond cooked in our commissioned "Lucifer" wood fired oven to impart a unique flavour. Hence our name "Charred". We are open from
We have been to Charred many times and the experiences have always been very good. But lunch today for 9 adults and 6 kids was dreadful. The problem is the tapas menu. It doesnât work. It is limited. It is dominated by dishes that rely heavily on bread, crisps and other simple carbs. It seemed like the restaurant was trying too hard. Are they after a hat? What was presented was well prepared but if you were hungry there was only appeared to be one dish that would have filled you, the duck cassoulet. There was a dish based on beef that we did not try but given its price it was unlikely to be substantial enough to satisfy someone who was hungry. We get that it is supposed to be a tapas menu but it failed there because it was so limited. In addition, other than from the sommelier David the service was very average.

The owner has done a great renovation on the property. Food. Was good and the wine list great. The only criticism we had is that there was a very long time between starter and main course... the reason? They had a big group function next door. It would have been nice to be informed about this earlier on in the evening. However, good evening overall and we willbebck!Thank you very much for taking time to review The Peacock Room !You are absolutely right about the timing issue you experienced, kitchen and restaurant management are currently working on a better flow for dealing with larger group and how it affect other diners. We appreciate you highlighting this issue as we are very aware of this and we will find a solution so that the timing on food delivery will improve. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to us in the near future, please trust we will make every effort to become better and better in all aspects of our service - guests reviews like yours are important as you are highlighting both the positives and where there is room for improvement.Kind regards,Espen
