I really like this wine bar and shop. Whenever I am in Trier, I swing by to pick up some local wines. I like German wines and they have a good selection at reasonable prices in particular from the Moselle and the Saar region. Friendly services. Quite crammed though.

This "fish" self service/fast food restaurant (and wine shop) seems to have problems to deliver constant quality concerning the "minimum service! at the cash desk,bringing food to your table etc".Today when wanting to help myself to a little breadbasket when paying for 2 main dishes&drinks, I was told "NO", bread will be brought to the table with your food order..... needless to say that the bread never made it to our table :(Fish (Trilogie von Edelfischen, Seeteufel/lotte) is fresh and servings are good.At lunchtime waiting in line is necessary, even if you only want to get a second glass of wine for example.Large choice of tasty Moselle wines (bottles or by the glass) for a good price.Food&wine are ok, "service" is a hit&miss...Ambience is busy, crowded, noisy...

typical weinhaus fare and atmosphere - fine selection of primarily german wines but other wine producers also represented - mostly above a certain quality - food was generous and properly prepared if nothing spectacular- but one does not wish to be surprised- for worse nor better - service is attentive and knowledgeable.

After being ignored by ALL staff outside who seem hellbent on ignoring anyone, I eventually found out you grab a table, pick your food, get your drinks and return to your table with a number.With the number of staff on hand, it would not be hard to offer a table service and would make people more inclined to perhaps order additional items (another wine/desserts etc.), but alas their business model is not that way, and I wasn't going to join another queue for another wine.On the plus side, the wine is good and they've a good selection on offer. We ordered the snitzel with potatoes (took me a while to figure out that's what I wanted as it's a potato dish with a side of snitzel).Very reasonably priced (think just over â¬20 for 2 mains and 2 wines).Service is a massive let down with the poor staff wandering around aimlessly looking for a number on a table somewhere, even at times the table is the path - far better ways of working the service here.That said, I'd recommend it and would go back.

We went there for lunch after a walk in Trier. The place is nice, was quite busy on a Saturday at lunch - good service, nice food, reasonable price.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit Freunden in der Weinstube Schnitzler. Die Karte ist recht umfangreich, hier findet man kleine Gerichte, Klassiker und natürlich Fisch & Fleisch. Saisonale Speisen werden am Tisch auf einem extra Kärtchen angeboten.Vorab erhält man immer einen leckeren Gruà aus der Küche, anschlieÃend hatte ich eine Rinderkraftbrühe wie von GroÃmutter, schön angerichtet in deinem Bügelglas. Zur Hauptspeise wählte ich ein Cordon-Pfiff (nur saisonal), gefüllt mit Pfifferlingen und Peso - super lecker. Auch das Schiefer-Steak ist ein Traum und wird auf den Punkt gebraten serviert.Begleitend zum Essen haben wir uns für einen köstlichen 2015er WeiÃburgunger Classic entschieden. Ein Nachtisch hat nicht mehr reingepasst :)Für uns eine absolute Empfehlung.

Wir waren schon sehr oft zu Gast bei der Familie Schmitt. Die StauÃenwirtschaft ist immer gut besucht, was eine Tischreservierung empfehlenswert macht. Sitzen kann man urgemütlich in der rustikalen Weinstube oder gehobener im modernen Anbau. In der kleineren Speisekarte ist für jeden was dabei. Die Auswahl der Weine ist natürlich gröÃer. Die Empfehlung des Winzers, der persönlich hinter der Theke steht, trifft immer unseren Geschmack. Ich freue mich schon sehr auf die nächste Schlemmerschmier.
