We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening enriched by knowledgeable staff, great wines to taste, and small treats to help pace ourselves during the wine tastings. We enjoyed two flights of dry whites, one of rose and finished the evening with a flight of reds. In each flight, our concierge led use through local, Alentejo and Douro wines. He worked with us to help hone our choices. We enjoyed the mixed meat and cheese plate and the sardine bruschetta, ... and meeting the chef at the end of the evening. The ceiling is made of wooden wine crate tops and sides, and adds to the special feeling in this shop.To avoid unmet expectations, come here for what they do so well- their wine. While the food is fine, do not expect to gorge yourself on huge portions. These dishes were meant to enhance the wine. It does this very well. You would not go to a football game expecting the highlight to be an ice show. Neither should you misplace your expectations here. The food and chef are good, but come for the wine.Getting there was interesting. Google Maps took us further down the road and the telephone number list by TA is incorrect. (They said is was the company's fault, not TA)+351 will get you Portugal, but their local # is: 966112686. It is well worth the effort.

Restaurant of excellence located a few meters from the beach of Vau in Portimão, with national, international cuisine and the specialties of the house, the fondue of meat or fish. For wine lovers, this is the ideal restaurant with a wine cellar where you
Visited with our children, blown away by quality of food. You can see the chef/boss cooking the food. Staff Paolo and George very friendly and helpful. We had pork with Diane sauce (delicious) and steak with peppercorn sauce (also delicious) our children had chicken nuggets and chips (more like 1 large breaded chicken fillet) and childs steak and chips (she really enjoyed it) Definitely coming back, it knocks the socks off other local eateries

the house of the torch, was born at the beginning of the 20th century. In its beginning was a church, where the women before they got pregnant came asking for the blessing and light a candle. In the mid-1950s it became a grocery store, where wine was sold
In a back street and not easy to find but a beautiful interior with a wall full of wine bottles. Service good, waitress very pleasant, waiter not so.Glass of wine was light with a distinctive flavour.Main course seared tuna was a little overcooked and in too much oil.My wife's sea bream was excellent, great for a vegetarian.Cosy place well worth a visit. thank you very muchWe look forward to serving you soon.

Recently opened! A great place to try typical Portuguese & international tapas. Cosy & sociable for evening drinks. Live Music events every weekend.
V5 offers something different in Ferragudo with a good selection of tapas giving the opportunity to try a variety of different dishes in a single sitting. We really enjoyed the food, particularly the guisado de frango (chicken stew) and the queijo amanteigado - one of those cheeses that is nearly liquid at room temperature and you spread on little toasts. All the food was good and very good value but what really makes the place is the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit for a relaxed meal.

Went here with my husband having seen the reviews on trip advisor. Warm smiling welcome from the staff and led to a table. The evening just got better and better! A superb wine was recommended which we both enjoyed. Food was fantastic fresh tasty attractive and plentiful. Good selection for cheese with again a recommended port. Would thoroughly recommend especially for people who enjoy a good choice off wine
