What a gem in already sweet Ashburton. Great veggie plus vegan menu which is very original and engaging. Lovely atmosphere with the long tables, help - yourself - water with books available if you have the time. Terrific-ly tasty freshly made to order food. Can't get better. There is hot competition in the town but this is an ace choice. Even the loo is charming and fun, if you see what I mean.

Popped in for a drink whilst shopping in Ashburton as it looks so attractive. The interior is quite small and simply furnished but light, bright and relaxed; the two women behind the bar were friendly; there was a reasonably good choice of wines by the glass and they also sold non-alcoholic drinks (for my driver!). The day was lovely so we walked through to the courtyard garden behind, again small but pretty, old stone and haphazard plants, and found a seat. The atmosphere is low key and laid back, the wine good, the garden quite a sun trap; we did not eat but noticed others' meals and they looked very good. A delightful pit stop which we shall certainly repeat, hopefully for lunch next time.

Never been before but will certainly go again Had the x2 steak deal for £25 Steaks were very good as were the trimmings Puds were ok but could do with some lighter choices eg brûléeâs rather than heavy brownies style Staff were very friendly They location is not great in that post 1800 hours the only option to get there are the stairs as the lift and the bridge from the multi storey car park is closed but worth the effort
