Bugigattolo is on a little side street off Ancona's Corso Garibaldi main drag. It's an informal enoteca - wine bar - with pages and pages listing wines by the bottle and by the glass... And many wines listed only by the bottle may be available by the glass if you ask. There are a couple of pages of foods... Not fancy eats, but good, and not expensive. Most wines are Italian - there are a few French or other 'foreign' wines listed. The server can make good recommendations... We wanted wines from the local (Le Marche) region, and our server helped us find some that would meet our tastes. (In a mix of Italian and English). Two of us shared a bottle of white - 20 euro. Our 3rd person had 2 glasses of different reds - 5 euros each. We each had an 8 euro item from the food menu. Add local sweet wine to finish off and we had a very nice light dinner.

Wine Not is a new city venue but first and foremost itâs a project on and relating to wine. A place where you can get to know the oenological side of this region, and where the food offered is chosen and prepared to exalt the wines being tasted. A place w
Inside a hotel overlooking the Ancona harbor, cozy wine bar presumably belonging to a famous local winery, it offers a very good selection of wines obviously and a limited yet satisfying selection of dishes. Not many tables, service is attentive and it appears frequented by local people.

At Vino al Vino bistrot you can taste delicious wines, talk with people, read books and magazines, listen to good music, access the internet, meet people. Our wine list is the result of a passionate research throughout Italian wineries. Here you can eat u
This little Bistrot is excellent in every way, from the warm service, tasteful interior, to the good value wine list and food offering. Go for the local red or white, as the selection here are amongst the best producers. We had a Montecappone Verdicchio dei Castelli Di Jesi "Federico II" and it was very good. Even the Piadina of vegetables was not the typical fare and exceptionally good. Definitely a place I want to return if I go to Ancona again in future. Be sure to make a reservation as this place is popular.

Traditional looking for innovation.
Our lunch at Altopalato was definitely one of the highlights of our five day trip through Le Marche. The first room you enter is a fully stocked deli with a wide selection of specialty foods and sauces available for purchase. There is also a huge array of local wines (by the bottle or glass) and enough local delights for sale you would find it difficult to choose. A congenial man works behind the counter and offers a wide range of cheeses, sliced meats and cooked dishes such as frittata, artichoke, zucchini, and lasagna. In the next room you'll find three tables with seating for maybe 15 guests and if you choose to dine inside you'll be whisked to a place at one of the tables by a charming woman and served a bountiful meal you will long remember. We came for lunch and were two of the first to be seated. This couple is extremely kind and friendly. We spoke only in Italian but I wouldn't be surprised if they speak other languages. They told us they were originally from Brescia (not far from Milan) and moved to Ancona 10 years ago because they were mesmerized by the beauty of Ancona. The whole experience: the charmingly atmospheric rooms (check out the flooring!), the wonderful aromas, the kindness of this couple and the fabulous meal we were served - will remain in our memory for years to come. Thank you!!!!!
