Fantastic, full breakfast, before a days fishing. Sausage, bacon, mushrooms, egg, tomatoes, beans, tea and toast, and the offer of more toast, all very good quality and well cooked. A lovely soup and a trout dish on the specials board for lunch but the fishing stopped me from testing them too.Cakes were to die for, they looked fab!!Brilliant service from the staff too, will definitely be back!!As for the fishing, lovely lakes, well set out in a beautiful setting, managed to catch a few too, always a bonus.Highly recommended 5*

We normally come several times in the summer and have an outstanding meal!Bearing in min it’s the beginning of a bank holiday weekend , we were told on arrival that 3 main course were off there varied but limited menu! We chose two goats cheese salads and were stunned by the serving size ! It’s hard to describe how a starter size piece of goats cheese can be cut to an eighth and each receive a sixteenth! You could hardly taste it ! Whoever last years Chef was please come back and raise the standards again !

Dropped in on a wet and windy lunchtime and enjoyed really good traditional fish and chips. Staff are friendly and it's located just off the main beach with space to sit outside when it's fine. Good value, comfortable and they serve great home made cakes as well. Excellent burger and Fish Cakes also great.

Eaten here several times, we live fairly locally. This time was definitely the worst visit and the last!. Standards are slipping ... dirty menus and tables in a not very busy restaurant. Sloppy service from the supervisor and manager - they didn’t seem bothered or motivated at all. We ordered the ‘Chicken Fillet Burger‘ at £12.95 each.... which was considerably overpriced for the portion size and quality. The fries were cold, there were three puny lukewarm chicken strips (does not constitute a fillet burger!) on a freshly defrosted bun. The coating was almost unpalatably over seasoned with thyme. Never going back, left disappointed, hungry and over £30 lighter (once you added £4.40 for a large sparkling water).

Family-run business for over 20 years offering deliciously home-cooked traditional British and international dishes for excellent value.

Having read reviews on here we were a little disappointed by our visit. Nothing actually wrong but the waiting staff barely responded to smiles and didn’t seem very welcoming. We had starter and main each, service was reasonably quick & food hot but mains were over seasoned to our tastes. The lighting is quite bright & the room feels rather like a 3 star guest house dining room. A bit of a disappointment.

We were recommended to visit by our friends. Had lunch one day (crab sandwich special and croque monsieur) and the welsh breakfast on the day we were leaving Criccieth. Really great food and service attentive and friendly. My only complaint... we didn’t have enough time to visit again! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and we’ll be back on our next visit to Criccieth.

We ate here while staying in the hotel for the weekend. The food was excellent, with a great selection and complimented with superb wine. The overall lasting impression from the restaurant was the outstanding service we received from Laura and the team, even to the point of opening slightly earlier, allowing us to have breakfast before leaving early in the morning. I would thoroughly recommend eating here and hope to visit again in the future.Thank you so much for the perfect score and for acknowledging Laura and her team, we are very fortunate to have the strong front of house to support the excellence of the kitchen. We look forward to welcoming you back on you next visit with us.Kind RegardMichael and Frances

On a golfing trip x4 with an overnight stay in Porthmadog, we weren’t sure about where or what to eat. A trip down the high street and the only place that stood out as appealing by miles was a converted Bank, which had only recently 4 months ago turned into a Tapas. Believe me, this will be an attraction for miles when word gets round. I’ve had many Tapas meals in convivial Spanish and Portuguese restaurants abroad .....nothing compares to the quality and variation of plates delivered to us. We spoke with the manager and asked him to keep the dishes coming of his choice....Wow how impressed were we.If ever in Porthmadog you need to experience Y Banc Tapas.....will be No 1 on T/A within no time at all.Exceptional!!!
