My spouse and I havenât been back to this pho restaurant since the summer of 2015. After doing a wine tasting at the Lulu Island Winery, we decided to come here for lunch around 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon.Less than 5 minutes after our party of 4 were seated, there was a line up. The line up persisted for at least the next 30 minutes or so.My spouse and I shared the following: ⢠P14 (large bowl $10.50) â Pho dac biet â rice noodles with brisket, flank, steak, tendon and tripe. An okay pho. My spouse commented that the broth was just warm. ⢠A5 appetizer combo ($9.50) with a sampler of 3 appetizers:a) Fried spring roll with ground pork, bean thread noodles and vegetables served with house mixed fish sauceb) Salad roll - rice paper rolled with pork, shrimp, vermicelli noodles, lettuce and bean sprouts, served with a creamy peanut saucec) Fried chicken wings Vietnamese style served with house sauce (3 pieces) - This was an okay dish if you want a sampler. My spouse commented that the wings werenât that crispy whereas I found them âokayâ. As for the other 2 items â spring roll and salad roll; they were also okay. The 2 others in our party ordered the small P4 â steak and meatball pho and the small S5 â spicy Hue Style Noodle Soup with thick Vermicelli. There were no negative comments on their dishes. Our portion of the total bill before tips was $21.00.Ratings Breakdown ⢠Quality and taste â above average. The broth was okay but my favourite broths in Richmond are Thaison and Pho 37. We didnât end up with âdry mouthâ syndrome sometimes associated with the use of the flavour enhancer MSG. We went to Pho An Nam last week and ended up with a âdry mouthâ. 3.25 out of 5 rating. ⢠Quantity vis-à -vis price â average value. Not much tendon and tripe in my pho. No meatballs like some other restaurants. Pho prices on par with places like Thai Son. Itâs debatable that the appetizer is good value for 1 spring roll, small salad roll and 3 chicken wings at $9.50. 3.25 out of 5 rating. ⢠Service â average. The food arrived in a timely manner. We had to ask for tea refills. 3 out of 5 rating.Overall, I would rate the restaurant experience as above average at 3.25 out of 5.Notes and Tips: ⢠This particular Vietnamese restaurant is located on Number 5 Road (at Cambie Road) in the stripmall behind the Shoppers Drug, Mart. ⢠Lots of parking depending on time of day. When we were there on Saturday afternoon and the parking lot was very busy by the restaurant. ⢠Check out the restaurant website ⢠Lots of other eating options in this mall including Chinese, Filipino and South Asian. ⢠See my reviews of Pho An Nam, Thaison and Pho 37 ⢠See my review of Lulu Island Winery

Very much enjoyed our lunch here. The menu is extensive but in a way typical to Vietnamese restaurants: phos, meats served on rice, meat and vermicelli bowls etc. But there are a few extra dishes here not so very typical (like an all chicken pho, like chicken noodle soup, and the Bub Bo Hue another reviewer mentioned. The spicy broth for the soups that merit it is fantastic. In so many restaurants it tastes hot but not complex, or it's too hot: this broth was very complex. It had a good medium vibe that satisfied my love for hot food without testing my tolerance. This restaurant also does some great appetizers. We especially recommend the salt and pepper shrimp.

Food was awesome. We had the P10 and the lemongrass chicken and both were a very pleasant surprise. We rolled ourselves out of the restaurant for about $20.
