Reviews on Vietnamese food in Mannheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Baden-Wurttemberg’s second-largest city after Stuttgart, Mannheim lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers and is rare among German cities for its layout, a grid pattern (or “quadrates”) similar to those found in North America. The grid was originally plotted in 1606 and emanated from Friedrichsburg fortress, which later became the site of Mannheim Palace. Today, it partly houses the University of Mannheim. The city’s iconic water tower and its beautiful Luisenpark are must-sees.

Nice food and friendly staff. Have been many times and has been excellent every time except one. Best to take-away.

I tried Laternen for a quick dinner. The pho was great as well as the service at the counter. They have robust wooden furniture and the place is decorated in Vietnamese style

We went for dinner to the Little Saigon for a hen night for dinner, party of six girlfriends. This place was chosen based on (mostly) nice reviews on Tripadvisor and few recommendations of friends. I ended up very disappointed. Service was ok, but kind of clumsy â waitress was almost pushing me while taking plates away. Food was really average! I had fried rice with chicken and veggies, pieces of chicken were very dry! Gave me a feeling that non-fresh meat was used. And the most unpleasant thing was the check. I had to leave earlier, so I paid extra for myself (I left our table and did it at the counter, ca. 25 Euro plus tips). Unfortunately, I did not take check with me. Turned out, they made my friends pay for me again!! There might be a chance of the personal being not that careful, but somehow I had a feeling of cheating. Next day when we found this out, my friend insisted we forget about it. But I feel like sharing this impression. Please be careful when paying. Based on the above-discussed points, I cannot recommend this place. Prices are also quite high. There are much better Thai/Asian places in Mannheim.
Where to eat Cafe food in Mannheim: The Best Restaurants and Bars
I ate at this restaurant with my friends, one of which comes from Thailand, and I must say that we all loved it. The restaurant is really small but extremely comfortable and cozy, you feel like you are a guest in someoneâs house. The waiter was so nice, spoke thai to my friend and offered to make us a bag with our leftovers (since the portions are so big). As for the food, I think that the pictures speak for themselves.

Another fake Asian restaurant in the city. Always the same taste like the other restaurant, same dishes, same everything. And the level of taste is nothing special, like the ingredients. At the end, for nothing really interesting, the bill was really really really expensive. Iâm still thinking why...No more here.

We tried the deep fried shrimps as starter. It was perfectly fried and the sweet-chili sauce on side were perfectly balanced. I definitely recommend it.Then we tried a rice dish and a noodle dish which were both delicious. The only hiccup in the restaurant is that they had only 1 English menu which we had to wait for 15 minutes to have a look.Good atmosphere, good food, good value for money.Definitely reccomended.
