Things to do in Kontum
In spite of being normal restaurant, food in there is really delicious that I'll never forget. This restaurant is Cô Hòa.
If you are looking for a simple place to grab a delicious meal and have an awesome experience, look no further! We stumbled in here hot and tired and left with a full stomach, refreshed, and with big smiles on our faces! The place is very simple, nothing fancy. Just a few plastic tables and chairs. No menus, as only one item available here: Nems (Vietnamese spring rolls) of the fresh 'roll-your-own' variety. You are presented with a massive place of super-fresh greens, lettuce, and herbs as well as grilled meat, crispy rice paper, garlic, cucumbers, and AMAZING home-made peanut sauce and chili paste. Roll it all into a sheet of rice paper, slather it in peanut sauce and enjoy! The owner is super friendly, and even though he spoke no English and our Vietnamese is nearly non-existent we had no problem communicating and had an awesome time doing it. He took time to show us how to properly roll the Nems, and told us not to hold back on the fillings because there was plenty more if needed! He helped us with our Vietnamese pronunciation and his big smile was contagious. He just went out of his way to make sure we had an awesome meal, and left totally satisfied... Even brought us a huge pitcher of ice water with out our asking because he saw we were hot and thirsty. The icing on the cake: Price for two was an unbelievably reasonable 70,000vnd (about $3.50). Unbeatable value!
Restaurant serving good meat. We had a beef steak, rare, with garlic and soya sauce and a very good roasted chicken. Cold beer. Inexpensive. All locals recommend this place.
Young people and families in abundance. Evening regularly punctuated with cheesy renditions of happy birthday. Big menu with local take on western dishes. English translation of menu needs serious make over. What on earth is Ostrich Department??? Very little English spoken so bring your apps.Pretty quick service. probably one of the better restaurants in area.

I Love Kon Tum cafe is tucked away from the street and decorated with whimsical art, plants and water features. It is clearly a favorite among young people and the staff and owner take pride in the place, wearing special T-shirts with the ILoveKonTum logo. We had wonderful fruit drinks, coffee, a killer soup (called stew on the menu), oppla (special fried eggs) and enjoyed hanging out a lot! Must visit while in Kon Tum, especially if you stay in the nice hotel across the street ;-)
