Spring Kitchen Vietnamese and Asian Cuisine

We eat here almost every week. Kids eat free on Tuesdays, so we often bring our son those nights. The pho is amazing - the broth is some of the best I've tasted. I haven't really tried anything else since the pho is so great, but my husband raves about the curry dish.

I really had great hopes for trying out this Thai restaurant after just moving to the Kent area. There are 100's of Mexican restaurants in the area, so a good Thai place would be GREAT!When I drove up, I see that not only do they serve Thai, but they sell Pho and Vietnamese sandwiches. Then on a white, dry erase board in the window, someone had written Sake' $2.50. All of the decorations inside were Chinese jade and red tassels, Chinese characters in large frames adorned the walls. I thought to myself, 'I guess this is the first true Asian restaurant I've ever been to,' as it seemed to encompass most of the continent (along with the Mediterranean restaurant next door, anyway). It was really a mish mash of decors and food all in one menu and also a bit confusing. One page had food from one country, the back page was for Thai food, and who knows what was on the others. I was so confused by the decorations and wondering what kind of food I was going to get at this hodge podge restaurant that I honed in on the Thai menu.I ordered, and my food was at my table within 5 minutes. However, I then had to wait 5 more minutes to flag down the owner to get a fork or chopsticks to eat. I asked for 5 star spicy but it was maybe 1+ star. But, the taste was very good and had an authentic blend of flavors to it. I enjoyed the food very much. All of the flavors joined together well and I was a bit shocked at the quality and taste of the food. I don't know what the other foods from the other parts of Asia tasted like, but having lived in Thailand, I'd give the food 5 stars, all the way. The service was a bit slow, and having to wait for something to eat with after your food arrives may be part of the theme and some ancient Asian torture. But, it was awful for that 5 minutes to smell this wonderful food, piping hot with all the aromas coming from the plate and not be able to dive right into it. I also thought that with the price they charge for the entrees that charging extra for rice was a bit excessive. The decor of the restaurant was really downfall of this place being known for anything but it's food. There was no ambiance. The decorations were Chinese and the food was from almost every other country in Asia but China. It just seemed that took over a former Chinese restaurant or either bought out their equipment and decorations after one closed. There were even cut out neon colored paper letters in the windows announcing some items. What it boils down to is this for me. I enjoyed the food very much. I'm sure I will go back soon. Next time it will probably be a 'to go' order. If you're going for the food, I think you'll enjoy it. Just don't expect much otherwise.

It you like Vietnamese cuisine, this is the place to go. The Pho soups were large servings and absolutely delicious. We were a bit put off because this is a small restaurant, but the service was good and the prices were very reasonable. Gluten free versions of the dishes are available.

Stopped by as I was craving some Thai food. Came here cause of their reviews. They didn’t disappoint, food was prepared fresh. Portions are big so we took home the leftovers. Not pricy, affordable! Manager even came by to check on us after we finished eating. That was nice! Will be back, thanks for the great service and delicious food

Let me first start by saying I am no Vietnamese food expert - quite the opposite. I have had pho once before at another restaurant. Meh. It was OK but nothing to write home about. So we decided to try this place. It's very basic decor-wise but clean. Service was alright as well. We started with the egg rolls. Gah. Reminded me more of a ground pork taco than a Chinese type egg roll. Maybe that's just Vietnamese. But I hated it regardless, the flavor just seemed off. Then my wife and I both had the steak pho. Oh such a mistake. The flavor of the broth also just seemed off. I wish that I had never eaten here, I felt slightly ill afterwards. Based on this restaurant, I'm afraid I will be shying away from pho for quite some time to come.

Love their gyoza because they always come out super crispy. Husband always orders yakisoba because the portion is generous and tasty. For those complaining about their hours, I can understand the frustration, but they have to decide if they're busy enough to stay open, if they aren't then they close. Lots of places do this.

House of Pho

I had previously tried this restaurant after they had first opened some time ago and didn't think it was anything special. But, after reading some of the other positive reviews I thought I should give it another try. My wife and I went there on a Friday evening for dinner and the place was almost full. The small parking lot was totally full (partly because of being right next to a large Mexican restaurant), so we had to park in the Fred Meyer parking lot. The decor is ok, typical of a suburban Pho restaurant, but the view of the Fred Meyer parking lot doesn't help. We sat in a booth, and one of the seat cushions was taped to cover a hole; the seats weren't very comfortable. Service was friendly and courteous. I had P20 (small size was $6.95, large was $7.95), which is Pho with brisket, marbled brisket (or fatty brisket), flank and soft tendon. The Pho had very good flavor and was served piping hot. The Pho is much better than the blander broth at Souper Pho. The soft tendon was sliced thinly, which I enjoyed. My wife had C1, which was the Grilled Marinated Beef Short Ribs ($8.95); again, the flavor of these ribs was excellent. C1 comes with Jasmine rice, marinated sliced carrots, sliced cucumbers, sliced tomatoes and lettuce, along with fish sauce and a cup of broth (chicken base broth?). Overall, it was a pleasant surprise to find such good Vietnamese food with good service in Covington. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because of the decor and view.

Golden Phoenix Chinese Restaurant

Golden Phoenix was a great surprise. We were seated immediately, water and hot tea were served within a minute, the menu offered a tremendous amount of choices, and our food was served quickly. Our server, although efficient and attentive, and said the right things, was very bland in personality and came off as a little robotic. Most importantly, however, is that our food was delicious!. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Mongolian Beef, Hot and Sour Soup, and Egg Flower Soup. Each one of these items were some of the best we've ever eaten. We only wish we would have had some to take home for leftovers (but we ate every single bite). We will be back! P.S. There was a notice on the tables that stated they home deliver through Door Dash. We will be trying that out also!
