Reviews on Ukrainian food in Minsk, Belarus. Serving as both the capital of Belarus and the headquarters of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Minsk is a hub of business and government. Although few older buildings survived WWII bombings and Stalinist construction projects, Belarusians are proud of their capital's long history and its continued cultural importance. The city boasts 16 museums, 11 theaters, and 139 libraries, including the National Library of Belarus, with collections housed in a towering glass geometric ball.

We stood in line for almost 30 minutes. When we asked why there was so much time to wait, we were told that the tables outside and inside were managed in a different way because there are different waiters (very funny way to manage a restaurant). Once we finally got a table, we noticed that other people, arrived after us, were sitting outside (we asked a table outside and it was denied to us). Moreover, the icing on the cake is that, only after sitting down, we were told that we had to wait one hour for any warm dish. Top level of unprofessionalism, zero care for the clients

This restaurant serves tasty traditional Belarusian food for very reasonable prices. It also has an English menu which was invaluable! Two mains + two huge sweets + two half-litre beers = 51 BYN/â¬22.34.In Plosca Svabody square and easily-reachable by Namiga metro or bus 1 or loads of other transport I don't know about! It impressed me that one of our sweets got forgotten about, probably due to the language barrier and us ordering similar things, but the waiter realised and made an effort to apologise profusely and chase the dish up. Mistakes are inevitable, it's how you deal with them that is important. We were there on Friday evening and had to sit outside as the restaurant was fully booked. So if you can reserve, then do.

Cafe "Kommunalka" is a piece of Odessa in Minsk with real residents of the same Kommunalochka uncle Isey and aunt Rosa, which everyone should visit. On the windowsills, shelves, in every free corner of the institution are placed seams with homemade pickle
The place was showed by a local Minsk person and brings you back to the times of USSR. Very authentic atmosphere and super good customer service. You can order home made drinks in the jars that are opened on your table, borsch , some Jewish dishes, cutlets. Menu is really wide. Nice that you can choose big and small portions. Would rank it as a middle price restaurants. Instead of the table cloth your food is served on the newspapers - as in old times. Menu is made from the house keeping book used in old times. If you would like to see how that USSR looked like - this is a great option.

When we wined and dined in Chumacky Shlyah, we had made a reservation for a group of about 30 people. Two tables were very well prepared for us but we had to wait a very long time for our dinner. Excellent food but a rather unpleasant attitude from our waiters. Be more friendly and i would certainly give a better rating

That restaurant is beautifully decorated in Ukrainian style inside. I was lucky to had a dinner there, great selection of Belarus-Ukrainian food and strong drinks. The prices are reasonable and food is really tasty . They offer home made cranberry vodka which you should taste there. My friend had a steak and i had potato pancakes with meat and everything was good. My borsch was very tasty and they serve it in proper Ukrainian style. Different starters to drink vodka with are good. That place it away from city centre but it worth take a taxi pay extra 3 Euro for taxi to go there. I do not mind to come back there as this place is good enough.
