If you have the chance to eat at La Ruota you will not regret it. The food is excellent, the service is friendly and the view over Massa is beautiful! A lovely family run business.

We spent only one night there, but we would highly recommend it: the restaurant and the apartment were just amazing. And what was really surprising was the service: we arrived there late in the evening (around 10 pm) and they asked us what we wanted to eat, so they prepare a delicious salad with some antipasti, which was heaven for us. The attention was super, the place absolutely peaceful and charming.

Ometto was once a hang-out for marble miners and hasn't completely lost the rustic look which was part of its charm. The owner died in 2011, Ometto was an ex partigiano from the second world war, and since some of the most vicious battles were held in the zone, which is near the Gothic Line, he hated Germans and wouldn't allow them to enter his restaurant. The family now runs the show, and there's no problem with German tourists. The pizza has won international prizes, and the local cuisine is absolutely irresistible. Try the Bacalà fritters.

We went to l'aquilla upon a friend suggestions and we were very pleased.the make a very nice bistecca con porcini and ravioli al ragu. The wine is very good.I recommend this restaurant for meat lovers
Prezzo onestissimo per un ristorante sito vicino alla piscina, che non offre piatti di particolare rilievo gastronomico ma può costituire una valida alternatva per chi vuole spendere poco.

Typical food, pizza, barbecue, music and one of the best views of the area, among the old tiny houses of shepherds.

The restaurant is located in the heart of the Apuane Alps,in the main square of Colonnata. Our cuisine is a blend of culinary traditional and innovative and delicious flavors, such as the "ravioli with wild herbs" or "rabbit stuffed with lardo with sliced
Nice restaurant in the main square of the village.Good service and nice people although some of our party were well known to them, which helped.Selection of anitpasti were great, especially the Lardo which they get from a "special source", I was told. But it was the best lardo I've tasted. We had a couple of primi course which were very nice. I had lamb for a main course which is normally not done so well in Italy - this was not an exception to the rule, more's the pity. However, I tasted the rabbit which was subtle and very nice - done as a roll with herbs and lardo filling it.Wine was good (chosen by the restaurant). Overall cost around â¬40 per head which is not so bad.I would go there again but for the drive back along the twisty roads down to Carrara!

The only downside is that service is quite slow, but the food is great, and the fixed price menu for 15euro per person includes everything from a drink to start and coffee/desert to finish.
