Family, Farm Restaurant & Cooking School
If you are planning to be in Montalcino and love great food and warm hospitality, make a reservation here for the most wonderful lunch. Currently serving lunch and also hosting cooking classes. From the minute you arrive Alessandro gives you the biggest and most enthusiastic welcome. And his wife, Manuela is an amazing chef who creates delicious and beautiful dishes. Along with other family members, they run a a real farm where the majority of the ingredients are from. Six of us dined here our last day in Montalcino and if we came the first we would have returned many times. We adored everything about Locanda Dametra. Bravo to this family for creating such a special experience.

Contemporary and traditional cuisine meet in this historic establishment with a magnificent panoramic view of the Val d'Orcia
Positives:Excellent serviceView near the window is wonderfulWine list has a wide variety of regional selections, and the advice was knowledgeablePresentation of dishes was niceNegative:The food. Each dish we tried offered a creative approach to preparation, but the overall results were only average to good, nothing excellent. There are other places in town where one can get equal or better flavors at less than half the price.I can only think that the top reviews given by others were driven by their need to assign high marks to a meal that was expensive.

The biggest compliment I can pay II Moro is that eating here is like visiting family. The restaurant is pretty basic and far from flashy but the welcome and food make for a great meal.We ordered a selection of starters from various bruschetta to the pecorino cheese with honey and all were simple dishes but tasted great. It was a similar story with our main courses with three of us opting for the pinci ragu pasta which is a local dish but was so tasty and the other in our party enjoyed the veal in a lemon sauce. We ordered a bottle of the Col dâOrcia Rosso wine which was lovely but they also serve a glass of the house red along with a glass of the Col dâOrcia Spezieri wine (both complimentary) - it was great to be able to taste the three different styles. For dessert we shared an ice cream and the cake of the day (which was fab) and a couple of coffeeâs. All told the price came to an incredible 100 Euros which included a generous tip as well as a few soft drinks in additional to the wine - a fantastic meal which was great value.Service throughout was great and from who we assumed were the owners. Itâs easy to see what II Moro is highly rated - they provide simple local dishes which are cooked fresh and cooked really well. We had a lovely meal and would return in an instance.

We had lunch here on a Tuesday. There is terrace seating (no smoking allowed) and inside seating as well. We sat outside with several other small groups of tourists. We ordered a bruschetta pomodoro and a ribollita for starters and pici pomodoro for our main course. The home made pici was excellent as was the pomodoro sauce. The bruschetta pomodoro was also good but seemed to lack garlic and no basil on top either. But the toasted bread, the fresh (not chilled) tomatoes and the olive oil (from the nearby Abbazia) were all very good. The ribollita, which is not cheap, was a little too salty for my taste. If I ate here again, I would not order it. The menu we were given had a good selection of antipasti as well as choose your own pasta and sauce. This was a great menu for vegetarians like us. We donât need and never order a secondi. Service was friendly and efficient. The red house wine was very good too. We plan to eat lunch here again on another day and can recommend it to other travelers in the area. The small village is scenic and the restaurant is conveniently located only a couple of kilometers from the Abbazia.

Over the years of visiting in Tuscany, we have several times stopped to eat at Ristorante Roma. We have always had good service, and good food. The wine selection is excellent. (The owners can assist in selection wine, and we have always had excellent wine.) The menu is in several languages, but most staff do not speak much English. If the wild mushrooms are in season, the mushroom soup is a winner. We will continue to visit when passing through Buonconvento.
We stopped here between wine tasting visits and really enjoyed the pasta. We had the Ragu pasta and the pasta (basil) pesto. It was only â¬5 for each!!!! Very friendly people work there and it looks to be quite popular with the locals. We would definitely go back again!! Ritorneremo sicuramente !!

We tried more than 20 pizzas all around the Tuscany. Some of them were thin, some thick, some had just few ingredients and others were rich. But pizzas here were truly the perfect one. We wanted to go back day after, unfortunately it was closed even that according to tripadvisor it should be open that evening. Desserts were good but nothing special. But we will definitely come back because of pizza.

We had this restaurant recommended by good Italian friends and it did not disappoint at all. The staff was super friendly, the food was lovely and local and a wonderful selection of Tuscan wines. All reasonably priced and in nice and clean setting. We had the menu and it was not a problem to change the pork primi to a veggie primi. All done with a smile. We where there with our two kids (8/11) and they enjoyed the food as well. Will comeback for sure. â¤ï¸

Un ristorante enoteca moderno, arredato con gusto, che offre piatti tradizionali e rivisitati. Ambiente amichevole e professionale. Tavoli all'aperto.
I stayed in Buonconvento for a week. The enoteca was fantastic for me with passionate and knowledgeable staff, a great range of wines and simple accompanying food. I spent several afternoons there expanding my knowledge of the wines of Montalcino and the rest of Toscana.

As a family of 4 we visited this restaurant on our 1st night in Buonconvento based on the trip advisor reviews and were not dissappointed. It is in a great location in the middle of town with tables on the pedestrianised main street with tables also inside. The menu is typical tuscan with a few surprises. The menu was all in italian but the waiter was extremely helpful translating the menu for us twice..!! I had the veal carpaccio to start which was excellent and grilled octopus for main which was also very good.
