This is a property serving the ski slopes of "Doganaccia", not far from the upper station of the cable car leading up from Cutigliano. It so crowded in the ski season, or at least on weekends (when we have visited). Both a bar is available, with sale of sandwiches and snacks, both (downstairs), a free-flow cafeteria, we have experienced. The look of the property and the kitchen are certainly not fancy, but the food is tasty and good value. Especially worthy the homemade pies. We also enjoyed: polenta with mushrooms and sliced beef with fried polenta. The bill was very fair: 28 ⬠for two, including water and wine in bulk (a small size jar). Apparently this is the only eaterie available in Doganaccia: at least using it you can avoid having to go down to Cutigliano for lunch, or settle for a sandwich.

Rustic and confortable restaurant, situated in a little medieval village only 15 minutes far from Bagni di Lucca and 40 from Abetone. Open everyday at lunchtime and dinner, except on Tuesday, it offers a wide menu composed from typical Tuscan homemade coo
This hilltop village, Casoli, is absolutely stunning. Go for a walk through it (go down right-hand side of the main church - to lovely hillside farm) before heading back to the restaurant for dinner/lunch. Sitting outside under the shade of trees and the overhanging lanterns are further perfected by the backdrop of Tuscan houses and hills! Just loved the atmosphere and environment. Been back twice in three weeks! Large menu selection - ravioli is my favourite! Their antipasto is scrumptious. Super friendly service. All in all an experience for all your senses.

In the heart of a pretty village of the Apennines of Tuscany, Ciompi's Tavern offers a traditional mountain menu with local specialties of genuine flavors in a small and cozy atmosphere
Visiting this very pretty town on northern Tuscany, we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant for lunch. For starters we had house made ricotta cheese with tomatoes and a vegetable soup. Both were delicious. For mains a boar stew on a polenta bed with olives and a deer tagliatelle were ordered. The flavours were superb. Overall a memorable lunch.

We arrived on our holiday in Vico Pancellorum and initially collected the keys for our holiday accommodation from what appeared to be an unassuming local cafe bar. It was ferroagosto (bank holiday) and all the shops were closed. We tried to book a table at the restaurant but it was fully booked. My wife explained in basic Italian we had no food and 3 hungry children. They sorted out an impromptu takeaway of pasta ragu, bread and wine for 5 for 25 Euro plus milk for the morning. It was delicious and great value. We booked for later in the week and had a superb meal. Spinach and ricotta ravioli, taglitelle with gypsy sauce and courgette risotto. These were the 3 primi options we went for. I'm not a massive fan of pasta but this was sublime. Main courses of guinea fowl with sweet onions, rabbit with olives, ribs with pine nuts and wafer thin pork in it's own juices followed. All delicious. Dessert mostly included panna cotta but I went for the blackcurrant torte. Wonderful. 25euros a head. This included a litre of house red, water, a large bottle of beer, lemon soda and 3Aperol spritz as well as the cover charge. The restaurant is pleasant, the staff lovely and the food superb. Drive the mountain road. It is well worth the trip.

Large wait staff, expert kitchen, interesting menu, dishes executed with perfection and elegance. The main dining room is a medium size, airy, second story addition ringed with large windows. The hostess spoke some English and was very kind to read us the menu in some detail. The hostess recommended I order house wine and I was stunned how good it was. This is the place to try special dishes - osso buco, rabbit, pigeon, brains ...Make time to walk through the village after your meal.

We stopped by to fish and have lunch after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor. I was a little nervous as there was no phone number or information about hours. We found it easily at the address listed here and they were very accommodating. We came with our dog too and they were happy to have her. First we fished. It is a tiny little, stocked pond. They give you a pole, bucket, towel and wooden mallet. Everything is very organized. As soon as we threw in the line a fish bit! Immediately! Then a second time too! We paid 11,00⬠a kilo and they held the fish for us while we had lunch. It is not fishing for a serious fisherman or woman. It is a fun little stocked pond where I imagine small children or tourists can catch a fish without skill or tools and still have a wonderful time! So alter your expectations for this type or experience and you will not be disappointed. Then we had lunch which was wonderful! A simple menu with choice of 3 pasta dishes, 3 crostini and a dessert! Our food was traditional, abundant and very good! The service was quick and kind. The place is like a little mountain retreat with lawn chairs scattered around and tables all over. For a quick, calm and quiet afternoon it was perfect! We would highly recommend it!

We stopped here on a Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was filled with local families (taking mama and grandma out for Sunday lunch, a few children, a couple of dogs hiding under their owners tables) -- really just a warm, welcome restaurant, and a good lunch. We had a couple of their veal dishes - one with pasta and one with mushrooms. Both dishes were very good, as was the mixed green salad - very fresh. Then for desert you should try their ice cream (really yellow in color) topped with either blueberries or hot dark chocolate. A really nice local restaurant. It sits just off of the main road, next to a very large parking lot. Not fancy, but nicely decorated with mountain lodge style furniture and wall hangings.
