Only one local wine available by the glass (and a basic one at that), basic tasteless bread, and limited, gastronomic-like portions. But nice food (although beef could have been more tender) one click above regular Turkish restaurants, good service and great view.

Sofra Restaurant presents the most delicious Turkish specials in a cosy environment.
Great foods and the owner was also very good. All my family really enjoyed their foods and my 11 year old son was very happy to get a chance to break a pottery with a knife. It's was very unique experience for all of my 3 kids.

After reading the reviews on trip advisor I decided to go check out this place for myself. Simple. Unassuming. Quaint family run restaurant specializing in local cuisine. I orders the meat dish in a clay pot. And was not disappointed. A good satisfying meal. A little more expensive than I expected it to be, however considering that Urgup is a tourist town, the price wasnât outlandish. I would recommend this eating spot.

We visited by chance as we were in the village and recognised the restaurant fromreading previous reviews. It was late afternoon and the restaurant appeared closed but the chef personally dealt with us.Wonderful food, great little touches and super presentation. We were also charmed by the surrounding hotel for which the restaurant is part, and booked a room for the following night.Only two teeny comments - no ice, despite asking a few times, and no tonic.Highly recommend for a really enjoyable meal, and wonderful large veranda to sit on.

Reheated remains of food and apathetic waiters. I can not understand remarks and review here. We had terrible experience.

What an amazing serene and tranquil place, set in a sleepy village with views of the surrounding cappadocian hills. Grape vines hang from the ceiling.Set menu cooked by the waiters mother, delicious honest and simple food, with the tastiest chilli pickle and organic dessert. Definitely worth the drive out from the tourist towns.

The owner of trhe place is very kind and helpful. The sataff is very friendly. Especially lamb chops should be eaten here. They were just grilled perfectly, keeping the meat nice and juicy. Just order in kg in place of porsions. You will not regret. Ä°f it is your cup of tea, they also cook liver very well. And finally, they have a special home made sucuk (Turkish spicy sausage), justr do not miss it. You will undersatand what I mean. Sometimes live music is available in this cozy place. Thanks a lot for this good feedback..;)

This restaurant is nested in a beautiful village called Ugurup, with nice Greek houses. Lunch was Lentil Balls, Ckicken Saute (chicken sauted with tomatoes & red pepper), Sac Tava (diced meat, green pepper, tomatoes cooked in a Turkish pan) and Ayran (youghurt drink). The ambience was good. The only down side but a big one at that were the flies which kept buzzing around trying to land on the food. This is a big negative for a restaurant of this level. We could not focus on the food as we were focussed on swatting the flies. Still, they did manage to land on the food. That was bad. Wonder how many flies are there in their kitchen. The management of this hotel better do something about this.

We had driven all the way from Goreme to Mustafapasa and were determined to find this restaurant after having gone through the reviews. The dining room is perched above the family home.Bread with 4 different spices and olive oil started off our meal. The yogurt mint soup with cracked wheat was fabulous while the stuffed eggplant made by the owner's mother was the dish of the day. Cheese rolls and Manti (ravioli in yogurt) added to an excellent lunch. The friendly and hospitable owner served us himself and offered bhaklava made by his mother at the end of the feast.

A short walk from our hotel we gave this place a go as it had a good vibe as we walked past the night before. The service was excellent, we were well looked after and the staff were really friendly and chatted to us a few times during the meal. In what appears to be Turkish style as the bread and dips were brought out, a few seconds later our starter arrived. Followed by the main shortly after. Not a problem with the style of food we ordered as it all went together (could have been annoying if you had a bigger starter to eat).Highly recommend the sausage, which was cut like a large salami slice and was stuffed chilli peppers and nuts. All the food was really good.Thank you so much for your beautiful comments and your suggestions. We hope you will come again to Cappadocia and come to our restaurant. Hope to see you again :)
