Mostar (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation: [mǒstaːr]) is a city and municipality in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Inhabited by 105,797 people, it is the most important city in the Herzegovina region, its cultural capital, and the center of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation. The Teater restaurant in Mostar is nestled along the side of the river with views directly onto the famous bridge in Mostar. The restaurant had a varied menu to suit most tastes. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow on top of which we had a torrential downpour which leaked through all the umbrellas which left our meals swimming in rainwater.I guess we just went on the wrong day but we were disappointed.
I've visited this restaurant many times and it's such a shame that so few visitors to Mostar even know that it's there. It's classy without being at all pretentious and they really enjoyed having my 4-year-old being there. It has a large terrace right next to the River Neretva, on the west bank of Tito Bridge - an historic location both more recently and further back. It's a 15 minute walk from the Old Town and 10 minutes to the large shopping centre at Mepas Mall, and so it is genuinely at the heart of the city. The service is friendly and efficient with free wifi that actually works and really nice local food. The restaurant is named after a famous Bosnian poet who lived in Mostar and you can feel his influence in the atmosphere and in the cultural programme they regularly offer, with musicians playing both from Bosnia and abroad. If you're visiting Mostar and want something more than fast food and the crowded touristy atmosphere in the Old Town, I thoroughly recommend Aleksa's.

We are located in the heart of Mostar, in the beautiful old town, close to the Old Bridge. The beautiful outer atmosphere, we grilled specialties, with twenty-year-long tradition. Welcome.
Konoba Bascine was one of the best restaurants we visited in all of Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro. The food was very fresh and grilled to perfection. Each person had a different favorite on the mixed meat platter but the best dish was probably the whole grilled eel. It looked enormous but was so good we probably should have ordered a few more. The waiters were extremely friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. They also helped the children translate the writing on a t-shirt, taught them the names of different juices, and showed them a pet reindeer in the back garden. The location was very near the bridge, shopping, and the Turkish Baths but tucked out the way on a quiet and cool shaded patio.

Best traditional Bosnian coffee. Near to the Old Bridge, here you can find a friendly place with great service, good coffee and very good sweets.

We called in here for breakfast on two mornings. There is a reasonable selection ranging from a simple continental breakfast, eggs and ham, poached egg, omelette with cheese and mushroom or fruit salad as well as some traditional options. The breakfast includes a choice of coffee/tea or orange juice which is fresh. On the first visit, it was fairly good, we sampled the omelette which also came with bread and jam/honey. Very simple but good value for just 7KM. Second visit was awful, abrupt and non communitive service, both omelettes were burnt and both had with very little filling. No accompanying bread or jam. First visit classed as four stars, the second a miserable one star accounting for the overall two star rating.

Being from St. Louis I am a bit familiar with Bosnian food - Let me tell you, their traditional platter includes everything you need to eat while in Bosnia! It was so good and only 17⬠for two people!!! They also have aircon, good wait staff, and a cute terrace. 10/10 recommend.

My daughter and I visited this restaurant because we had read some good reviews but when you see a mannequin clothed in traditional dress it should have been a warning sign.Despite what some reviews have said our waiter was lovely but the food was poor.We ordered some local dishes but even though they looked good they were not to our taste Iâm afraid so we left.

Looking forward to the local cuisine, we ordered the above two meals, both being mince just in different presentation, on a plate of homemade potato smash. The food was not bad, but also not very tasty - rather bland. The music did not add to the ambiente, service was mediocre at best.
