Find out what Turkish restaurants to try in Kocaeli Province. Kocaeli Province (Turkish: Kocaeli ili, pronounced [kodʒaˈeli]) is a province of Turkey and one of only two to not have the same official name as its capital, İzmit, which is thus also sometimes called Kocaeli. The province is the successor of the Ottoman-era Sanjak of Kocaeli. The largest towns in the province are İzmit and Gebze. The traffic code is 41. The province is located at the easternmost end of the Marmara Sea around the Gulf of İzmit. Kocaeli is bordered by the province of Istanbul and the Marmara Sea to the west, the Black Sea to the north, the province of Sakarya to the east, the province of Bursa to the south and the province of Yalova to the southwest. The metropolitan area of Istanbul extends to the Kocaeli-Istanbul provincial border. The size and natural conditions of the Bay of İzmit allow for extensive port facilities, including the Gölcük Naval Base. The province is called the industrial capital of Turkey. Kocaeli has an airport named Cengiz Topel Naval Air Station which is used for military and civilian transport. Kocaeli has two universities: Kocaeli University and Gebze Technical University.

The owner, Hamdi, checks on each and every guest personally during his rotations. The food is fresh, plentiful and delicious. The prices are reasonable. We had a great dinner with two large bottles of raki and plenty of fish, appetizers, desserts tea etc and the bill wasn't even $200. I would definitely return.

Prices are reasonable according to their competitors in Istanbul. The restaurant's place is quite spacious. Alcoholic drinks are served and the drinks menu is quite extensive.

I ate there last month. My medium-cooked chopsteak was incredible. It was being cut and chewed easily and wasn't dry. My friend's meatball dish was also above average. However, a waitress repeated our order and forgot french fries. The restaurant located just near the main road between Izmit-Yalova provinces but hasn't a proper car park. You can also buy some imported products such as pasta or special sauce.
We were passing by to the airport and drove right in for a little city tour. Our exploration leads us to this tiny but magical breakfast place in Ä°zmit, which also serving some other Turkish cuisines like Manti. You can feel the woman-led establishment right away with great details in decoration, cleanliness of the place and also serving of the food. The owners also managing the service themselves with great love. Kids loved the manti, we loved the late breakfast, delicious organic material! And prices were standart as a local place. Dogan and Cagla, thank you for the food, smiles and of course complimentary Turkish coffees. Hope to see you next time. - Kristine

It is suprized to me to find "Urfa Kebap" restaurant at this region. Delicious "Urfa durum kebap " and " cartlak kebap"(lamp liver) together with sidedishes make you full at all. You can take restaurant made "ayran" as a drink and dont miss to take "kunefe" for closing the meal. All of them are good and tasty, servis quality and speed are very nice. Price is o.k. I recommend to go to restaurant if you are around here or just stop to go eating when you are at ist-ankara highway or on the D100 road.Merhabalar Serdar Bey;Ä°lgi ve alakanız için teÅekkür ederiz, en kısa zamanda yeniden aramızda görmek isteriz.
