I've been eating here for 20 years. Mostly take out to eat at home. They just upgarded the restaurant, basically built a new place and moved into it. Same great food just much nicer facility. I highly recommend.

Choose New York's original spot for authentic Mediterranean cuisine, Sahara Restaurant & Catering. Try something truly tasty and visit us with your friends or family for friendly service, and fresh-made meals in a lovely setting.
Shepherdâs salad with feta cheese is one dish I always order at Sahara, and it never disappoints. We both ordered lamb gyro, and the large order would have been more than enough for two to share. The bread is delicious and plentiful. Service is excellent and the prices very reasonable. Four pieces of delicious baklava for $4.95 either for dessert there or to go is a nice finish. Parking is on the street. Highly recommend!
Excellent restaurant with reliable service and great selection of Mediterranean cousine. They deliver the freshest ever fish directly from Turkey. Their sea bass and cipura are awesome. Nice décor. A very convenient place for big parties and celebrations.

The place itself is nothing more than your average hole-in-the-wall type of establishment, but we use it almost on weekly basis for delivery. Usually takes about 30 min. The food is consistently good, considering that "we" are a committed vegetarian and an on-and-off carnivore. Mediterranean salad, baba ganoush, falafel with hummus, and doner gyro are rather quite good. Unlike most gyro places in the area their gyro isn't one of the common variety, generally known as "Buy three shawarmas and put the squirrel back together" type. Gyro actually tastes good and feels like bona fide meat, as do their kebabs. One cautionary note though - wait till 5 pm to order any pides, apparently "the oven ain't on till then". Yeah, I know, go figure...

Sheepshead Bay isn't exactly a culinary mecca, but we met friends here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. It was a hot night but nice enough that we were able to sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze off the bay. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and they were all fresh and tasty--babaganoush, grilled sardines, grape leaves, sigara (cheese wrapped in phyllo dough), fried liver cubes (I'm not a liver fan but these were pretty good), a small shepherd's salad, the mixed grill, and salmon casserole. Even the bread basket and puffed Turkish bread were very good.We ordered 2 bottles of wine, 2 Turkish coffees, and split 2 desserts and were expecting a pretty heft bill. Surprisingly, it came out to only about $60/person for all that food and wine. The service was attentive, not intrusive, and very friendly. We all enjoyed the food, service, and reasonable prices and would definitely eat here again.

I have been coming here for over 15 years and I have never had a bad experience with food or with the staff. Everything is always amazing quality and affordable. That is very hard to do in the restaurant business. After they gained tremendous success with the locals they somehow remained their consistency. Love this place. Always my go to Turkish place.Sabrina, thanks for all the love! It's always been a pleasure to have you join us over the past 15 years, and we're looking forward to welcoming you back sometime soon. We celebrated a friends B'day here. Place has great ambience and also a beautiful view looking towards water side with parked Yachts from the outdoor patio. Service was great but most important thing which is food.... is at best Average. Things become bit worse when you realise its quite expensive as well. One can go for the view and hope that particular day better food is served.

Liman Restaurant offers the best fish in Brooklyn with an exclusive waterfront fine dining experience to enjoy your specialty Turkish-style Mediterranean seafood with family and friends.
Iâve been coming to Liman practically since they opened in the mid-90âs. Atmosphere is lively and during nice weather the retractable roof opens for a pleasant outdoor waterfront dining experience. Their food is always fresh and cooked perfectly be it seafood or meats. Their appetizers are fantastic - authentic Turkish/Mediterranean. On this visit we enjoyed a huge salad and a plate of sliced baked potato chips. My main course was the Turkish meatballs which were delicious. The sides of rice and wedge potatoes were excellent. The portion was huge and I took home leftovers. Our table enjoyed a very nice white wine. Prices are not cheap, but you get what you pay for - excellent quality. Service is professional and exceptionally attentive. The owner always comes out to say hello which is a nice touch. We are always treated like family.
