Things to do in Assos
Located on Kadirga beach (a blue flag beach) this is my go-to spot for swimming and eating. Fabulous food right on the beach front, and they'll bring your food, beer, and/or Turkish coffee right to your beach chair.

We (three friends) went to the Ehl-i Keyf, because it frankly seemed to be the only restaurant in town. The decoration was really unique, there was a little ship to sit in, beanbags to sit on, but also normal chairs. We chose a normal table (which was made of an old wagon wheel with a glass plate on top - so not that normal after all). The music was pleasing, the food was good. After about a week in Turkey, it was the first time we tried "open Ayran" (as opposed to the on in a plastic cup). It tasted good. The Ehl-i Keyf was also the third restaurant I tried Turkish coffee in, but there it was served with gum mastice (which is a thing, but I didn't really taste it) and in that spectacular way which is shown on the photograph.Apparently, they also serve Peynir Helvası, but we only discovered that when we had left. But try it when you're there!
There is many place to eat around this coast of Ayvacik and Kucukkuyu road. But this one most famous and common place. Famous but they responsable about their business, they are a family business, making daily fresh appetaisers and turkish tapas. Mostly fishes is maindish. And very wellknown local green vegetables they preparing. Fresh daily fishes are fabulous. I recommand local fish called "sardalya" he cooking his own style on grill.
You should break a time for seeing amazing view and tasting delicious, Turkish traditional food Mantı and fresh drinks such as black mulberry , lemonade. You never regret of this. Almost the prices are so cheap. The ownes of cafe are couple and was so nice people. They can accept dollar, euro, Turkish lira or credit card.
Assos is full of fish restaurants but Yildiz is the best one by far. You are on a fixed boat, enjoying the sea and coast line view. The food and service is very good. Our favorite was grilled octopus. Barbun was fresh and tasty.

This is a typical meyhane that you find the food that you expect from any other meyhane. It is very well located next to sea. You watch fish swimming while you eat your dinner. Staff were friendly too and quailty of food was good enough.
we have stayed 2 nights here as 2 families. we stayed at the bungalows which are new and clean, including air condition and bathroom inside. the facility is clean and all bungalows are located in the olive garden just by the restaurant which you have the full sea view. if you stay here, breakfast and dinner is served free, you just pay the extras when you eat such as cold drinks and alcohol. the food is served with free salad and choices of "meze". feel free to visit here dine or stay. you will like the hospitality of the owners and the quality of serving they have. sea is walk distance of 10 seconds which is clear and clean. definetely will visit here again next year

We visited this restaurant three times. Although a variety of meat and seafood dishes were on offer, we were especially impressed by the olive oil mezes. In 8 years in Turkey I have never tasted better or fresher. The owner explained that the produce is home grown and very fresh. The stuffed courgette flowers were especially lovely. It is a simple restaurant, they don't serve desserts or fancy coffee but what they do prepare, is done to a very high standard. My husband had the meatballs once, and said they were excellent too. There is a shady porch and also a roof terrace with a sea view. Service is friendly.

Quaint old building tucked away in a backstreet of hilltop Assos. Small gated entrance leads to tiny courtyard with seating area to the back and then uneven winding steps to an upstairs dining area. Rather romantic. Great views out over countryside and to the sea. A very friendly hostess/owner and her daughter? ran the restaurant and, although simple choice of food, all was freshly cooked and flavoursome. Wine is available on request.
We had such a nice experience here although the staff didnât speak English. The owner made the effort to make us feel welcome, something we do appreciate. Thanks!Donât miss their stuffed vine leaves as I reckon theyâre really tasty. We had a sweet tooth so we had the opportunity to try dessert too before our tea. The restaurant is located in a lively area of the town, close to the mosque, shops and market stalls so have your dinner outside!
