Find out what Turkish restaurants to try in Aachen. Best known as the capital of Charlemagne's Frankish empire, today's Aachen sits at the juncture where Germany meets the Netherlands (the Dutch know it as Aken) and Belgium (where "Walloons" call it Aix-la-Chapelle). But Aachen's history goes back even further than 8th-century Charlemagne. Roman soldiers dating back to the 1st century AD cherished its hot springs (as did Charlemagne, who loved a good spa day just as much as the next guy). Aachen Cathedral, northern Europe's oldest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the city's main attraction.

Not everyoneâs cup of tea but we loved it, you choose what you want go to the cooking station order it and collect when itâs cooked. This, for me is the best way to eat as you can take your time and eat when you want to. Starter, Main and dessert take 2.5 hours...perfect.Meze starter, pasta with ginger and curry sauce main and various chocolates to finish. Gin with pomegranate, rose bitters and lime a superb combination.

A marvellous meal in the heart of the old part of Aachen. The ambience was great and from where we were seated in the upstairs part of the restaurant, it was possible to watch the cooks at work (always good to watch). Great service; great food; great location - highly recommended.

This is an Italian eatery located in an Aachen alleyway a walk from the Cathedral and Markt. The staff, who are mostly Italian-born, don't speak much English, nor were the menus partially printed in English, if that is an issue for you. However, with my German skills I eventually managed to make my order. It took about 30 minutes for them to tell us one of the orders was not available. Then even more waiting for our new order (Pizza) to come. We were disappointed, as we planned to explore more of Aachen in the free time we had, but almost all of it was wasted waiting at this place. The food itself was OK, but not worth the wait at all.
