We thought it was ok..not like traditional Thailand food more Americanized. If you use to the real deal this is only 3 star. We tried dumplings which tasted good and home made. Papaya salad was poor came on top of lettuce with wilted tomatoes. Kind of wierd...Salmon with ginger and peppers was below average in a watery sause. Had dragon beef was tough and no sauce no spice. It was basically an over priced rib eye with no thai taste. Big hit and a miss as we love thai food in Calif. So we were disappointed as most thai food is in AZ.Service was ok plenty of customers seemed to enjoy it as it was busy.In a old strip mall bad shape plaza. A bit overpriced and not the authentic dishes we love to eat.

Stopped in at Thai Basil for an early Saturday evening dinner. There were 9 in our party and they were able to seat us within a few minutes. The food and service were very good. We started with fried tofu, chicken satay, Tom yum soup and a crab dish. For dinner there was a variety of dishes including pad Thai, red, yellow and green curries and an egg plant dish. All were very good. If you're looking for Thai food in Tempe area, I would recommend Thai Basil.

We went fairly late in the evening, Staff was kind and helpful. I had the seafood pad thai, excellent noodles, and plentiful seafood. Ordered the Rice and mango for dessert, was surprised by the black rice, not the traditional white sticky rice. Different texture, but delicious!

We called in a carry out order to take back to our hotel. The staff remembered to include napkins and plastic ware which is normally forgottenI got their 'signature dish' the Thai Basil with tofu. It was chock full of vegetables and had a wonderful taste. Huge serving of white rice.We split the spicy noodles with tofu. Perfect amount of chilis to tingle the tongue but no need to grab a beverage.DH got the Pad Thai (always) which he enjoyed.Next time we are in Tempe, we will be sure to stop here again
