Decided to have an early dinner after seeing a movie at AFI. Kao Thai is across Colesville and a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro stop. They were almost empty when we arrived at 4 PM, but a stream of customers started shortly after. Conversation was easy the whole time we were there. Both the Yum WoonSen and Drunken Noodles (with chicken) were very good. At the spicy level, the drunken noodles had the right amount of heat that provided balance to the plate. Service was good. We will return to try other dishes so we can compare their food to the other Thai reswtaurants in the Silver Spring and Wheaton area.

Welcome to Kin Da where you can indulge. We are a Thai and Sushi themed restaurant with delicious food, good service at a reasonable price.
Wonderful food, especially the fish in panang sauce--I could bathe in that stuff! My husband loves the cashew chicken, extra spicy! Eating in is very pleasant--nice service and always fun to run into people you know from the neighborhood. Carryout is great too--earth-friendly containers, and the food travels pretty well, as long as you choose something that's not breaded.

I was looking for late lunch to get away from the heat of summer and found this nice place in the heart of Downtown Silver Spring in the pedestrian street near the movie theater area. I cannot say much about other dishes on the menu but I can definitely say something about "duck noodle" soup. If you like Thai noodle soups, this place might be for you. It is on the second floor of the revived "Downtown" mall. The place is big and clean with plenty of natural light.

I came here to order pad thai with chicken to go. Flavor wise, I thought it was on point. The noodles were the same compared to others. They had a good balance of the remaining ingredients. I will come back and try something else and to truly get the experience of the restaurant. Until then, I would say this place is a 3.5 to 4 stars.I was quite surprised that they would charge me 5 cents for the plastic bag. This would be the first restaurant that I've been to that has ever done so. Not sure how I feel about that. The limited interaction with the staff was fine. Courteous and friendly. Overall, I would recommend this place.

Pleasant restaurant with character, good menu, very good food, very good but slow service. We enjoyed several appetizers: chive dumplings and crispy shrimp rolls - both good. We shared four main courses which ranged from no spice (Asian pumpkin with seafood; Pad Thai) to quite spicy and delicious (Spicy Eggplant; Drunken Noodles). Nice Singha beer to wash it all down.
