Natti's Thai Kitchen

Reviewed By davebU6440EW

I visited Nattis Thai kitchen while on a business trip to PE. I was staying near the City end of PE just of the beachfront road, and having put the address of the restaurant into Waze found it took about 15 min. in the car to get to.The restaurant is in a nondescript old house I an older part of PE. Although I found the address easily, I had to get out of the car to peer at the houses before I spotted Nattis. It is entered by a steel security door/magnetic lock, and I suppose they have a reason for this security. The restaurant decor is quite plain, small tables, small chairs, plastic tablecloths on the tables and not very interesting. The menu is written on a chalkboard in the entrance passage. Mine host was attired in a white T shirt, flip flops and a pair of shorts- certainly not a formal place. He was very attentive - I didn’t have a booking and all he could give me was one small table as all others were booked. As clientele came in to take their tables it was apparent that the majority of business was local. I ordered spring rolls, 4 small 2 inch, piping hot, crisp and tasty rolls promptly arrived with a tasty dip, followed by a spicy consommé of chicken/vegetable soup, also hot and excellent. Main course was pork based in a thin sauce with a small dish of rice to go with it. Delicious! If you want burgers, fish and chips, ice cream and chocolate sauce, - don’t go there! If you want something different, - and Thai, go to Natti’s kitchen. He doesn’t have a liquor licence, so feel free to take your own. I had a couple of drinks with the meal, came in a bit stiff I thought at R265 + tip, but I did enjoy it.If you do go, read up the menu on the blackboard, mine host will explain what each dish is about. Will I go back? I did enjoy, but will probably try somewhere else the next time.

Wow, what a gem of a place. They serve a variety of uncommon foods and boy are these meals amazing. This indeed a hidden gem. Service is efficient and friendly and all the meals are well prepared a delicious. They do not offer a huge variety but you will definitely find a meal to suit you. The meals are based on Vietnamese, Malaysian, Thai fare. They offer craft beer and Gin as well as a small selection of well priced wines. This spot is certainly to be recommended.
