The food was spotty. The yellow curry was good, the pork dish was okay and the garlic noodles with shrimp(I replaced the shrimp for chicken) was awful. Totally overcooked. On the upside, the sampler platter and the tempera fried banana were delicious.

Thai Tree

All kinds of little Asian knick-knacks and art on walls and shelves around this fairly small dining room. Staff are very friendly and greet you promptly. The extensive menu included all of the usual Thai dishes, as well as some less common ones such as Grapow chicken, Pra Pam and Mussamun Curry, and larb or papaya salad. Everything that we ordered was wonderfully aromatic and full of complex flavors. We ordered our food "Thai spicy", and as much as we love heat will probably have them tone it down just a little the next time. The Tom Kha Gai, Mussamun and Lemongrass Chicken were exceptional. The servings are generous, but not huge like can be typical in many Asian restaurants, so definitely order a dish per person. Also, they will serve the food as individual entrees, not "family style", unless you specify otherwise. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just so you know.Service is friendly but can get disorganized. Last time we were in they brought some of our order, then served another table, then some more of our order, then another table, then finished with us, which resulted in some of our party having our food long before others in our party. Something for them to work on...

Food was good to very good, but the guy who took our order was not heavy on people skills. The young lady who followed, was both pleasant and courteous. May poor English skills was the culprit, for the first guy. This place has a nice decor, good and authentic, food selections, and is worth a try.

We had been wanting to try Home Thai for a while, and finally had a good opportunity. We were not disappointed. It has a comfortable feel, with pastel walls and Thai art adornments. Fine aromas wafted from the kitchen. Our server was very friendly and attentive. My wife ordered a ginger chicken dish that had a wonderful and very pronounced ginger flavor. I ordered a northern Thai noodle curry that was very interesting- it was served with a nest of dried noodes which started out crunchy, and soaked up the curry and softened as I ate. We did not specify a heat level, curious as to what their default was. My curry had plenty of zip, but certainly was not incendiary. Depending on my mood, I might or might not ask them to turn it up one notch next time. I like Thai food pretty spicy, and this was close to just right as it came out of the kitchen. Wouldn't have wanted heat in the ginger dish of course, as the ginger was the key flavor. They have an extensive menu, including a number of offerings that are not the "usual suspects" for Thai restaurants, and we will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Our litmus test for any Thai restaurant is green curry. Too many Thai restaurants use prepared/pre-fab curry paste which tend to be thick and gummy. This restaurant makes their green curry from scratch. Hence, the 5 stars on this visit. We had the $10 lunch special which includes soup, a choice of appetizer (chicken sate and egg roll), salad, and main dish. We ordered cashew chicken and green curry pork, with the request that the green curry be extra spicy. The green curry pleased and passed the test. We want to return for dinner to try other dishes.
