Things to do in Loei
We often go for a meal at the Lanchang restaurant, in Loei. Though it is possible to eat inside (with AC) we prefer to stay outside, in the garden. It is a really beautiful restaurant, serving good thai food. Most of the time there is life-music. If you are visiting Loei and want some relaxed dining, donât miss that place.Just a little advice: do take precaution against mosquitos (long sleeves and socks)

Sit down on our patio and enjoy a wide selection of craft beers on tap made here in Loei. Some great food choices to go with our beers are yum (spicy salad), buffalo wings, fries, bbq pork and more all served up from our kitchen. Nearby are many great res
After spending my first five months drinking mediocre (at best) Thai beer, I am so thankful to have found this place! Mike, the owner/brewer from Canada, usually has 5-6 crafts beers on tap ranging from light wheat beers to heavier IPA's to suit everyone's tastes. IMPOSSIBLE to drink Thai beer again after trying his beer. The quality of his beer is unbelievable. He takes great pride in his beer and only serves his batches if he feels they are up to standard. I frequent this place two to three times a week and have tried nearly every beer he brews and have never disappointed. This micro-brewery is a MUST-STOP in Loei. I see myself coming back to Loei specifically to visit this brewery.
We had just spent day in Udon Thani and on way home decided to have supper there last Wednesday night Feb 17.We've been there probably 7-10 times. We usually start of with Heineken and then look over the menu for anything NEW.We live to put Lime(s) in our beer and i have started using ice also. They bring a lime sliced up with a side of salt and charge +- 30 Baht. They also charge for ice believe 10 Baht.We ordered Oysters as they've been Very Good in the past along with Shrimp. The Oysters came this time in a bowl with sauce(s) mixed together.Quite Tasty until i started chewing on pieces of small Limes that had been chopped up and in the sauce including the outer skin (tough). The Shrimp were NOT Very Good this visit. We then ordered Salmon this time when they brought them 12-13 small thinly sliced pieces (still Frozen) at 180 Baht. She ordered a soup with side of rice.Large bowl usually quite good but did NOT enjoy it this time.
There is not a lot to Loei but this little restaurant on the man made lake is a good place to eat and enjoy a beer. Food was good and atmosphere relaxed with music being played over the speakers. Staff were very friendly, dishes a little pricey but it's a relative term - we had Mekong fish for less than $8. Recommended.
Excellent restaurant for a good and low priced breakfast. It's very popular among locals and it can be difficult to find a seat in the morning. I have been here 3-4 timed for breakfast. Their Kai Ka Ta together with a bread filled with pork-meat and sausage are great

Went to this place based on my brother in laws recommendation. Fourteen years of travelling to Thailand this was a new and very nice acquaintance. Big menu with Vietnam food, Thai food and some international dishes. Fast and effective servers and the food was excellent. Everything was clean and the meals looked really good and it tasted superb. I would like to recommend the Pad Thai Moo, one of the best I have ever tasted. To top it all nice live music which was subtle enough to let us talk and have a good time. Seven people dining, the total cost was 1800 bath. Very cheap and very affordable. Highly recommend by us. Do visit and do visit Thailand.
