We visited Sunshine Thai on Friday night for a meal while holidaying in Gisborne. The best Thai meal we have had in years. The food was awesome and service excellent. We had not booked but that was no problem. Well worth a visit in our experience.

Visiting from abroad and stopped in for a Saturday evening meal. The service was prompt and friendly, although the menu a bit limited, and the ambiance could use a bit of assistance. They were doing quite a bit of take away service so they are doing something right. Our in restaurant meals were âokayâ as was the portion size. Four star prices for a three star dining experience.

Very friendly service here and the food was prepared very speedily.We had 3 dishes and enjoyed them all.We ordered: Bali Goeng and nice noodle dish with a rather nice peanut sauce accompaniment,Spicy fried rice which would have had an extra dimension with just a little more spiceAnd crispy pork with cashew; very tasty. Served with plain rice.Plenty of vegetables just cooked to my liking with a delicious bite.Good portions and really generous with vegetables etc.

God coffee served quickly and staff very friendly and welcoming. It's really a Thai restaurant which you don't realise until walking inside. It has good outdoor seating area and plain but spacious seating inside. It's set in the nice village atmosphere of Whataupoko and is probably a draw card for the locals wanting a nice Thai eating experience.
