Things to do in Dubbo
When you generally visit buffet, you forget the quality of food and focus primarily on quantity and variety. The Sporties buffet was a welcome change. Practically an ocean of items to chose from. Started with the salad bar (with prawns and oysters), then entrees (a plethora of fried items - crumbed fish fries, crumbed chicken wings, crumbed potato and scallops, french fries, pork crackling, samosa, spring rolls, crab claws - everything was fried, so was difficult to differentiate the taste from one another). The mains had such an elaborate spread that it was difficult to chose from. Honey chicken, seafood curry, prawns thai curry, mixed veggie gravy, meat curry, chicken noodles, veg fried rice, bbq pork, sausage and gravy, mashed potato and pumpkin, chicken soup. The variety of dishes just doesn't finish! The taste of the mains (unlike the fried entrees) were very good and quite distinguishable from one another. The dessert selection was the best. Had 3 choices of ice creams, 3 choices of brownies and cakes, milk sago, apple crumble pie, different colored jello, custard and pavlova. It was just awesome and a sugar overload! We loved the place. The adult pricing and kid pricing was quite reasonable and we kept wondering how they manage this vast spread with the amount they charge from customers. Definitely a must visit restaurant in Dubbo, but make sure you are very very hungry with an empty stomach before you go there.

Group had lunch and there were mixed results. Could be improved in the looks department. Food was good for some and not others. There are better Chinese alternatives in town for lunch.

The food is always FANTASTIC and not too expensive. Although every dish Iâve ever had there (and thatâs many) is great, my current favourite is the âstir fried curryâ chicken with vegetables, red curry, coconut milk, basil, fresh chilies and a bunch of young green pepper corns (just gently pull the strand through your fork ;)If you like it spicy, Iâd give this one a try.And of course, the service is always welcoming and delightful.Donât leave Dubbo without stopping here for lunch or dinner.

This is a gem of a Thai restaurant, attached to Dubbo City Bowling Club. The food has been excellent and this being my third visit it didnât disappoint. It doesnât matter if itâs curries or stir fry, they donât miss a beat!Prices are also very reasonable too and service is great. Definitely one to keep going back to.

We walked across the road to have our meal here. Arrived early for most, so figured we didn't need a booking. Were placed at a table, served quickly and efficiently, and when the food arrived, it was just what we needed. Tasty, hot, and fast. Can recommend!

Hi, stopped in dubbo overnight on the way up to QLD. Felt like Thai, after reading all the reviews sounded amazing. The food was very, very and I mean very bland. The curry I ordered and it was the recommended one was very watery and had no flavor at all. I could make a curry which is 10x better with no effort, and I am not an amazing cook by any means. The moneybags tasted like coconut very bland as well. Partner wasnât happy with her oyster beef as well. The fried rice was ok. I donât know maybe they had a trainee chef in there on the night I ordered but for the money paid does not seem worth it. Very disappointed, definitely did not enjoy eating it. I donât know if Iâm just unlucky or the people who give this place amazing reviews eat cardboard for food.

We had dinner at Rose Garden Thai while visiting Dubbo and it was delicious. Service was good and food was even better! We were pleasantly surprised as it was across road from out Motel and we just wandered over.

This restaurant is a surprise find in western NSW. Great imaginative and authentic Thai food beautifully presented. A good but not overly ambitious menu, I had Crispy pork with chilli jam one night and grilled salmon with a thai salad another night. Both excellent and compared very favourably with more expensive food in Sydney and Melbourne. The entrees are prepared on the premises and are fresh and well presented. Each item a little flavour bomb.Good wine list by bottle or glass and great happy smiling service.
