It's just an average restaurant virtually on the pavement of a busy road. The standard is rather low and not suitable for entertaining guests. Also, there is no parking. We were greeted and seated well because the restaurant is full of staff. However most of them are just taking up space, standing around or watching TV or chatting. No one is really in charge of your table and as such service is poor. They do have alcohol. The basics are there but the prices are close to five star prices. A local bottle of Beer is Rs. 550/- but service is like at a very cheap bar. Their licence allows them to serve alcohol only during certain hours but if you bring in your own bottles, corkage is charged at Rs. 1,000/- per bottle on spirits and 500/- on wine. That makes it an un-viable place for drinks. The menu is basically Japanese and Sri Lankan. The Maki rolls were a terribly armature attempt, therefore we decided to give the entire Japanese menu (which is one whole side of the menu board) a skip. The seafood platter at Rs. 3,000/- was mostly over fried, compared very poorly with similarly priced platters at five star hotels and wasn't enough to go round the table. As a main its about enough for one person and as a starter only for two.The food as well as the service lacks professionalism and is like at a wayside Kade - although the prices are much higher and the curries aren't as tasty as in the Kades. Meat curries that should be slow cooked and ready to serve, are prepared in 5 to 10 minutes and a single portion costs around 1,000/- (with the extra charges) and are watery, under-cooked and terrible. Lentils which have been cooked well in advance are served without even heating the singe portions for Rs. 350/- barely had two table spoons of the curry. Many of the desserts on the menu aren't available

This is a lovely location (once you get across the train tracks!) It had a live band both times we visited with a very extensive menu. The food was excellent on both occasions, the second time service was abit slow, due I think to a lack of staff, but hopefully as tourism grows again then they will take on more servers. However I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, it's well worth a visit.Dear Customer, Thank you so much for visiting Barracuda Seafood & Grill Dehiwala and giving this valuable feedback on our food, staff, atmosphere and our restaurant. We really appreciate. We are so happy to hear such good comments about our restaurant and also the fact that you had a great time at our restaurant. La Rambla was formerly in Colombo 8. It has now reopened at this Mount Lavinia location since December 2010.
Actually really enjoyed a prawn pasta here, while my friend (Thai) had an excellent Thai dish. The restaurant was stylish and the service was excellent. It was for a late lunch and they were almost closing but welcomed us in. Thank you! The chef was Thai so that helps!
