Things to do in Collaroy Beach
This is fully sit-down restaurant unlike some of the Thai restaurants on Pittwater Road. I went early on a Sunday night and the customers were a mixture of Asian and European, which is a good sign, also they were doing a brisk takeaway business. The location is on the intersection of Howard St and Avon Rd which puts it almost exactly between Pittwater Rd and the beach. The area is nearly all apartments, many of which offer no visible off-street parking so finding a parking spot near the restaurant could be difficult. If you can't then try the Howard St. public parking lot roughly 200M west between Howard St and Oaks Ave, otherwise there is a lot of parking at the north end of the beach although that would be roughly 350M away. This is about as close as you can get to the centre of Dee Why so its walkable from practically everywhere.I ordered a Massaman Beef Curry with rice which took about 20 minutes as they were busy. It was traditional Thai but quite different to the same dish served locally in other Thai restaurants. The beef was in three big cubes at least 50g each, but cooked well enough to separate easily with a fork. There were potatoes and the traditional coconut sauce with the meat. It was very good but next time I will order something I can get with hotter spices as the waitress advised me this curry is normally not spicy. The menu said $17.90 but they charged me $15.90 for the curry and $2 for the rice which came to the menu price, plus $2 for use of a wine glass ("corkage"), so I had a filling meal for just under $20 and I plan to go back.

This restaurant is near an apartment we just moved to, and as we like Thai food it was an obvious choice. Judging from the few places to sit inside, most of their business is take-away. You can see the cook prepare everything and also see all the food is fresh. We ordered a mixed entrée to share (A$10) which included fish cake, chicken wings, spring rolls and a curry puff with chilli sauce. These were tasty and seemed good value compared to some so-called tapas restaurants not too far away. For mains I had Crying Tiger (A$17, fried beef in spicy sauce) and my partner a green chicken curry, to which we shared a small Jasmine rice. These were really good, in particular the Crying Tiger was better than a nearby competitor we tried a few days later. We noticed they were selling bags of prawn crackers to nearly every take-away customer so we departed with one of these and enjoyed them for days as snacks. We will definitely go back to this restaurant and it proves appearances can be deceiving.
Time 4 Thai is a welcoming restaurant in Collaroy Plateau. We both like Thai soups so I ordered a Tom Kha Gai, and my companion a Tom Yum Gong. The soups were good, but I definitely tasted, and made already better. Maybe the problem was, that my soup was too much packed with goods, it was so thick, that it lost its soup like liquidity. After this very filling soup, I had only a dessert, a, sticky rice with coconut custard with a few problems. There should have to be more coconut milk around the rice, and the custard should have to be runnier. My partner choice of main course was a red chicken curry. It looked and smelled very appealing, but after his also too filling soup, he wasn't able to finish it.The service was fast and attentive, and it looks like a popular restaurant for people, who isn't keen in Indian food, or when the next door Indian Joint is closed.

Exquisite Thai Restaurant located right opposite the amazingly beautiful Collaroy Beach. If you're after wonderful food and good atmosphere or just after some quick takeaway, please come and visit Exquisite Thai.
A late decision for mid-week dining. My wife found this on a daily deal site and we literally bought the voucher 1 hour before dining! In fact the deal was so new there were issues with the restaurant when we arrived to actually register. Anyway, it needs to be about the food so lets dwell on that. And in a nutshell it was great! My entree of chicken wings were great (normally $9.95 - see photo), among the most flavoursome I have ever had at a Thai restaurant. My main course, Mongolian Lamb (normally $23.95) was also superb. The deal also included a rice and a Soft drink (normally $3.50).5/5 based on food quality and value.1668

This Thai restaurant was in a laneway of Manly Corso and had lunches from around $8.50.I had the drunken basil chicken noodles ($10) and my wife had the basil prawn stir fry ($12) We also ordered some takeaway for the next day.The meals were extremely tasty and were a great cheap lunch. Luncj options are more limited than the dinner selections.Great open kitchen with the fresh food sliced and available to view in the glass window.A highly recommended thai restaurant.

Monkey King Thai locates in 4 locations: Lindfield, Newport, Warriewood Square and Narrabeen. Street food is more the norm than the exception in Thailand. At Monkey King Thai, we aim to bring that convenience to you. We are your local Thai kitchen, offeri
Initially we had a lovely meal , even though we were "not allowed" to change the beef curry to a tofu curry on the banquet. The biggest disappointment came when we asked for the leftovers to be boxed up so we could take them away.Again we were told we were "not allowed" . None of the girls could explain why & when asked what would happen to them we were told they would be put in the bin !!?? We had paid for this food so I am not sure why they preferred to add to landfill than give it to us to take away.Hi Jane , I have responded to your email as the following;Hi JaneThank you for your feedback and letting us know these issues.Regarding to swap the dish, I will advise the staff that in this case we can be more flexible to the request for the vegetarian guests. On the no take home policy, please be advise that the all you can eat banquet is served the same way as buffet. The customers would not allowed to take home for any food beyond their consumption. We have been strictly on this policy, for many years. At the early years, when some of our staff compromise with some customers request, some customers trend to order one more round when they full, and later ask for take away boxes. In fact, we should have charged for those left over food. Handling all you can eat banquettes involves a lot of complicated works behind, from design the right margin menus where win win for both our customers and our restaurant, inventory forecast and control and staffing. At Monkey King Thai, where we always put ourselves on customersâ shoes, we hope we can continue offer our customers fresh quality food and good taste at the best value price for our local customers. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share with us.Weâre appreciated your feedback, your feedback will help us to be a better restaurant. Thank you. RegardManagement TeamMonkey King Thai

Ok so these guys moved back to Collaroy after 1-2 years in another suburb while renovations were happening. Iâm very happy they are back, in a big, bright, cheerful new space with a cool fish tank. Service is always wonderful. Top food, always fresh & well priced. They offer gluten free options which is great for me as Iâm coeliac. Daily lunch special has heaps of options, grab it takeaway & cross the road eat at the beach (heaps of picnic tables and park space by Collaroy Beach)

We have recently moved to Narrabeen Beach and are so excited that we have such as fabulous Thai restaurant within walking distance. We have travelled extensively throughout Thailand and the food here is genuinely delicious as well as authentic. We ordered salt and pepper squid and the pad kee mao (beef) which were amazing, with fresh ingredients such as chilli fresh peppercorns. A lovely touch was the complimentary dessert which was a fabulous way to finish off a lovely casual Sunday night dinner. The decor in the restaurant is modern and the price very very reasonable...BYO and licences.Do yourself a favour, and try this gem.

Went to this restaurant for Sunday lunch to celebrate my auntâs 96th birthday. 6 of us had a table outside with view of the water. Tried 3 entrees, 6 mains and 3 desserts. Food was excellent especially the bbq dishes. Very good value for the quality of food. Service good & we brought our own wine. Highly recommended.
